Stop Playing Day Night Matches in Dec-Jan in Bangladesh
We have seen the impact of heavy dew in Bangladesh this ODI series. We have seen the thing in the past too. We lost to india when we were defending our 290+ score (292 may be) as our spinners were unable to grip the ball properly.
BCB should arrange day matches only in December and January months in Bangladesh. There is no point in playing such matches where the conditions put much effect!

This wouldn't have been a problem if we could actually win a game in this cursed place.

WI won 2 nights ago batting 2nd.
Man up and accept the fact, stop blaming other for your failure.
Useless thread.

Not blaming others for the failure. I have stated some facts.
Can you name a few useful threads please?

LOL.
Vent it out on me, I'm all ears.
Just because it rains that does not mean we stop scheduling games during those month.
In world cup we beat ENG in CTG where ENG was upset and mentioned that WC game should have never been scheduled in CTG knowing dew was an issue. I did not see you taking a stand than! Oh, I got it, because we won.

World cup matches were not played in December or January.
I didn't suggest to stop playing matches during this part of the year. I only suggested to make schedule of day matches. The conditions will remain more or less during both innings.
You don't have to like my logic. Everybody has their rights to have their own stand. But directly saying something useless is not something what is expected. This is harsh. I hope you don't want me to do the same with you.

DID bd lost today due to heavy due impact ????
the dew was there but WI did not seem to have problem. both spinners were bowling well.
also yesterday our spinners were not haveing problems. it was the drop catches and a strange rubel over that cost the game.
too be honest dew did not have enough impact in any of this games
also in december-january in the morning you will have some foggy mornings. where the team bowling first will have some some extra advantage and also some games delayed due to fog

Did not mean to offend you by saying that. My bad.
We all get little carried away when BD gives away a game which was ours to win.

Don't agree. It all depends on the toss. It's our fault that we can't take advantage of this dew factor.
Having said that, I think in day light matches even if you lose the toss you have 50/50 chances but in Mirpur if you lose the toss, you are more likely to lose the match. We won the toss today still we failed to put up a decent fight. Completely our fault.

Darren Sammy just dumped all over this thread.
Umpires, dew, d/n, SNBS, we're starting to sound just like the Indians. We weren't good in the last two games. Simple. Lets just end it there. **** happens. Now can we please win the final game!

toss, umpire, pitch, dew, D/N, Shamim, Kanta, 8 other teams ...always a reason.
If all the excuse factors were taken out, we'd be world champs.

Once we start to allow such environmental concerns to alter the schedule, we won't be able to stop seeing other conditions to be just as problematic whenever we lose. Other test playing nations may also start doing the same thing and all of this may lead to chaos. All because we'd rather not man up.
Dealing with a wide variety of conditions is one of the things that make international cricket interesting. Adapting to those conditions and trying to overcome them with smart tactical adjustments work better unless everyone decides to play in environmentally controlled domes.

Windies bowled 2nd and won...you need good pacers.
Of more concern is the moronic umpires we get and the DRS system.

Reminder of a classic proverb, a bad workman quarrels with his tools.. shoja banglay jake bole nachte na janle uthan baka. Although yes I do agree we should keep 'condition advantage" away as much as possible, last two matches the dew had negligible impact on the outcome of the game. It was more our batsmens' ineptitude that cost us.

We went to Mirpur Stadium for yesterday's match. Poorfan, Rabz and me were present along with some of our friends and relatives. It was a real fun time.
The environment became foggy since the evening. Fog became heavier as game progressed. It was so foggy ,during Mominun and Nasir were batting, that I couldn't see the stamps from the gallery. I am sure the batsmen were having big problems in playing fast bowler like Roach and fast medium bowler like Russel that time because of the low visibility. To me our chase of 218 was as tough as chasing 300+ runs on a regular ODI conditions. Our boys played extremely well to reach the target.
The fielders were also having big problems in sighting the ball specially when ball was in the air.
Me, Rabz and Poorfan had been discussing several times that we were playing in early English conditions. I still recon that we should not play day-night match during December-January.

still its possible to find playable conditions under lights in the night.
but guess whats going today morning ....... it is still foggy here in mirpur, so if we had a day game scheduled today, it would have been not possible to start it yet. because in day time the floodlights doesnt come into effect.
dew surely plays an important factor, but if u have good bowlers and if they bowl good u can neutralize the factor. its hard for BD as we dont have enough good pacers and so dependent on spin.
still i feel the dew did not had enough impact as it had in the series where we could not defend india's chase of 290. that tri-nation series impact of dew was so evident with all the three teams dependent on spinners and lacked good pacers.
the debate will go on and will never end ...... but let the cricket and our victories go on

You don't get the real picture unless you are actually in the stadium to see it with your own eyes. There are certain things that cameras don't pick up and the heavy dew was one of them. I've taken some pictures, but it hardly shows the amount of dew and limited visibility on the ground.
Not only our boys batted really well, but that limited visibility helped us too. There have been few times when the fielder could not pick the ball when it was in the air which saved us wickets, once I remember that of Mushfiq in the fine leg boundary which, if the fielder could have spotted the ball well, would have been an easy catch for him.

We were sitting on the Shaheed Mushtaq Gallery (Southern end) and could hardly see the gallery on the northern end. Seriously !! Everytime the ball was in the air, specially after 7pm-ish, you would lose track of the white ball amidst the white flood light and the hazy dew. Infact, the crucial couple of boundaries that Shohag Gazi hit charging Permaul down the wicket over mid on, we only saw the ball leaving the bat, and all looked at mid on but wasnt sure whether it was four or six cuz we could not follow the ball !!
I think day night matches should be arranged, but the time should be brought forward.
12.30-8.30 would probably give it a better balance for both the teams.
