1st Practice Match Thread: Bangladesh vs Bangladesh A (D/N)
Bangladesh: Mohammad Ashraful (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Shahriar Nafees, Roqibul Hassan, Mehrab Hossain Jr., Mushfiqur Rahim (Wicketkeeper), Mahmudullah Riyad, Mashtrafe bin Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain Rajib, Dollar Mahmud, Sajedul Islam, Arafat Sunny.
Bangladesh A: Zunaed Siddique (Captain), Nazim Uddin, Shamsur Rahman Shuvo, Alok Kapali, Naeem Islam, Dhiman Ghosh (Wicketkeeper), Nadif Chowdhury, Musharraf Hossain Rubel, Mahbubul Alam Robin, Rubel Hossain, Farhad Reza, Sohrawardi Shuvo, Farhad Hossain.
Well, looks like the BCB finally did the common sense thing and moved the practice games to the actual venue instead of holding them at Bogra.
I would like to see the following XIs (perhaps a 13-13 affair would be better):
BD:
1) Tamim
2) Mehrab Jr
3) Raqibul
4) Ash
5) SN
6) Rahim
7) Riyad
8) Razzak
9) Dollar
10) Shahadat
11) Sajid
x) Sunny
BD-A:
1) Junaid
2) Nazim
3) Naeem
4) Alok
5) Shamsur Rahman
6) Dhiman
7) Farhad
8) Nadif
9) Rubel
10) Robin
11) Mosharraf
should be a good couple of games.

Why dont we do go one step ahead:
Since Ash still claims he is young and learning the game as it goes...
why dont we chip him in the u-19 team.
im sure the guys at the passport office can take care of the rest.
they always hv magic up their sleeves.

Mehrab Jr is not being used as an opener even in club matches, I doubt he will be given this position again in the national team. Although, it would benefit Shahriar if he was taken off the opening slot.

I wouldn't like to have 3 test specialists in my team.
Mehrab jr, Mushy, Raqibul all are very slow in making runs. Mehrab is very very slow. even in test cricket.
If BD play these 3, then BD-A will win by big margin. Mark my words!

Don't think Mehrab Jr will open - probably Tamim & SN.
Similarly, I don't see why are we pushing Nazim for opening. Imrul should have been in the A squad to partner Zunaed

BTW does anyone know if Kalpage is coaching the A team? Or was he supposed to take care of the academy team?

Yap, there is some news.
well, only one news.
......its been raining the whole day pretty much.
and it rained heavy.
I highly doubt there would be any game tomorrow.
I highly doubt there would be any game in the upcoming series actually.
after all, its the rainy season.

Actually, Mirpur has the best drainage system in the world, so I suspect that there will be matches.

May be not the best in the world, but probably a really good one.
Best in Asian cricket stadiums though.
Btw, it rained 74mm just in Dhaka alone today.
so big test for Mirpur tomorrow.

There's a reserve day for all the matches including the final.
So I don't think all the matches will be washed out.

That is the only way we can get to the finals. Two washed out games would give us four points. The winner of Ind-Pak team would have six the loser would have two. We play the finals and may be win it? Thunder bolt striked?
