Yeah I agree with Cats_eye there. Knowing when to keep the mouth shut is a good virtue, and apparently our little master needs to learn more of that. I won't mind if he spouted around cocky remarks if he actually played like a 9 lakh player all the time. A little more consistency, and say what you like. We will learn to forgive you. For now, we don't need another Shoaib Akhter (who by the way, still gets the job done more frequently than Ash).

Imagine the degree of shame our footballers would have brought us if they were playing the top tier of the world. Imagined yet? Or may be it is unimaginable.

You know the saying - you'll make mistakes only if you work. So, you can either not work and thereby stay free from making mistakes. Or, you can work and make a few mistakes here and there. So, you feel proud that our footballers have not brought the level of humiliation that our cricketers have? Think some more ...

Anyway, I am not defending our cricketers fighting spirit (or the lack thereof). But I do not see why everyone needs to be so sensitive about Ash's remark.

Ash did not say that he can play soccer better than our footballers. He just said if footballers get so much money, cricketers definitely deserve their share.

The reason he is saying these things is because people have questioned the amount of money he is getting.

Is he stealing that money?
- Nope.

For the club, it is an investment. They might get return on it, they might not. But why does it burn people to see Ash getting paid? It's not their money! It is between the club and Ash.

Lastly, Ash is not saint Ash or Ash Baba or Huzur Ash. He is not in charge of developing political correctness in Bangladeshi youth.

You guys need to get some perspective and give this 20 yr old some break that he completely deserves.

Correction. He just didn't said if footballers get so much money, cricketers definitely deserve their share. Based on DailyStar, what he said is,
"National footballers slammed national cricketer Md Ashraful for his statement that the footballers get more money than the cricketers in the team transfer but had not brought any international success." that some how you ignored the later part.

You are right that people have questioned the amount of money he is getting. But not necessarily cricketers are getting in general. To shut people�s mouth, only thing Ash needs to do is perform well in domestic league. Shouldn't that be the best reply from Ash? Is it too much to ask from him?

You are right. And that�s true for footballer also. If club desides to pay more than Ash, we shouldn't complain. And same is true for Ash. Pure economics of the infrastructure of football will dictate the supply and demand and threrfore the salary of footballer. Then why its bothering Ash? Comparing players salary between football and cricket is comparing apples and oranges.

As far as I know 20 yrs old (on paper. Real age who knows? ) is a adult to me. If I have to give a break I would rather give a break to a 16 years old teen .. not 20+years old adult.

Well gotta agree with Fazal, if they are getting more paid, it shouldnt bother Ash... he should mind his business... then again our cricketers definately deserve more..... thats where I agree with Sauron and disagree with cats_eye.... I don't think our crickers humiliated us....... they are trying their best and we are proud of them.... just because Argentina got out in the first round of world cup doesn't mean football is not their pride anymore
