Cool BD vs NZ Post-Mortem

BATTING
--------------
The return of te familiar Domino effect. 4 top-order batsmen failing to do nothing.
Poor shot selections and poor Defense ( thats how they got bowled! )

The other annoying thing was everyone is trying to do the ASHARFOOL shot. That's how Tamim got out and the same daft shot was tried by Sakib later on!

BOWLING
--------------
Masharfe was bowling from the right side of the wicket.
BUT he wasn't throwing the ball at the right places. Bad day for him.

Saqib as a bowler is honestly a joke. He should be considered as a batsman only, NOT as an all-rounder. So far in this WC, he has been expensive with High economy rates.

It was good to see Ash in action. Habla finally remembered that Ash can bowl.

FIELDING
-----------------
Habla's 2 Missed catches = 2 wickets for us
3 Run-out chances missed incl. 2 Thanks to Aftab = 3 Wickets
TOTAL OPPORTUNITIES MISSED = 5 WICKETS FOR US!
SCORE Should have read NZ 178/6.

Also, sloppy Fielding continued as there were 3 or more misfields that led to boundaries.

Habla's fielding layout is also questionable. If the ball is disappearing for a boundary behind the Wicketkeeper AND behind the bowler regularly, why not keep 1 fielder at each of these locations? HUH?

This is not the first time Habla has been involved in misfields. Some of the other matches in WC also saw him demonstarting this symptom.

The analysis is very simple:

Faruk and Co. Asked Tamim to play as JO do. they waste the power play completely without scoring 5 overs worth of run. Players coming in keeps thinking we have to make up for those 15 overs that disappeared without a trace. So, they are already under pressure to score fast. Hablu gets run out trying to do that. All other gets out quickly trying to score fast. Story ends.

SN need to be back, even if he scores duck, he has the potential to be a match winner, and 4 match failure is too early to drop a Vice Captain. Let Tamim play his natural game. We'll at least have a chance.

So weak arguement against Faruk and Co. As if they were batting themselves.

104/2 140/9 explain that? Powerplay diye duiye khabo?

That is the explanation: if we were 104/2 at 20th over, all other would have time to settle down and play naturally. Instead, they had to rush from the first ball trying to get a defendable score (note: not respectable score). That is the reason of the collapse.

we lost because of this:
FROM TC:
There were no alarm bells ringing just yet as Shakib Al Hasan and Aftab Ahmed went along nicely. Aftab was in touch straight away and flicked Daniel Vettori for a boundary to announce his arrival. A straight four off Oram and the smart singles kept the scoreboard ticking but then he committed the cardinal sin of trying to loft a Scott Styris slower ball and was caught at long off by substitute fielder Mark Gillespie for a 39-ball 27 leaving the Tigers on 105/3 in the 29th over. His dismissal evoked an animated reaction in the viewing area of the Bangladesh dressing room with coach Dav Whatmore thumping his fist on the table perhaps aware that this could change the complexion of the innings. And that was exactly what happened.

We should not be in the Supper 8. Admit we are not ready for a good cricket yet. Hope by 2011 we can show some good cricket, but one thing we have to keep in our mind is to replace Hablu ASAP after the world cup.

Rubu.
SN is in bad form. From the matches he played so far. He ndint play well and more over was rather not confident. Agree he is man for us in opening but not now coz now he cnt deliver us. JO can deliver us bttr now. We have to just blame our luck that SN aint in gud touch during the WC whn it mattered the most. He was awesome thru out previous to the tourny but damn poor BD.
Actually now i want to see rajin opening with tamim

Scoring 0 runs in First 2 overs aint good.

I agree JO slogged.

But, BD went wicketless till over 25 and at over 25, runs were about 100.
So, in over 50, we cud have scored 200.
And tnx to how batsmen bat in last 10 overs these days, we cud have produced an extra 40 runs off the last 10 overs.

Total score would have been 240.

At over 28, score was 105/3.
From overs 28 - 42, we scored 35 runs ( 2.5 rpo) and lost 5 wickets!
Question is .. what did the 5 batsmen do in these 12 overs ? Can't they survive 14 overs?

JO can deliver? Not sure what you mean. The only thing he can deliver us is a waste of power play. Without using power play, the only thing we can achieve is an honorable defeat. But no, there is no such thing as an honorable defeat.

We need the winning mentality even if we lose badly as a consequence. Having JO opening is the exact opposite of that.

JO = waste of power play = no chance to win

as simple as that.

Right. Come on!! JO spoiled tamim on that match. Since he ate up the powerplays..aftab who looked good and could have easily smashed oram, styris all around had NO friggin PPs to play!!. Even if it was SN..as usual getting out early..say 20/1 (4 Overs).. Vs NZ..we would have easily scored 240+ ..game on then..eh?
Sit Javed Omar forever.

Sakib and Mushfiq had Nothing to Do. Two Unplayable Delivery from Shane Bond. Aftab and Tamim Committed Suicide by Poor Shot Selection. Hablu Should Run Fast.
