Default Heroes of the liberation war

In this picture you see a rare collection of our bir muktijodhha's who have been awarded the Bangladesh's highest gallantry awards. They got together for a book publication event recently. You have civilians and military - soldiers and teachers - heroes from all walks of life who risked their all for the cause of freedom. 4th from right, bottom row, is my apon mama (one of many uncles who fought for freedom during the war) - General, Ambassador, and Bir Pratik. He was barely out of his teens at Dhaka University when he took up arms for independence and was the first batch of Army officers in independent Bangladesh.

These heroes wont stay long, and we are yet to settle on JI. May God bless these people for their great heart and sacrifice.

Yes massive respect and salute to them.

The stories of Bir-shrestos are also very emotional. In 'amar boi' school textbook, there was a story about all 7 seven distributed in each grade levels. It has been a while and we forgot most of them. Maybe we can share and discuss it here also.

Ahhh, I see. In that case respect to all the Bir Pratiks who have passed away as well. We have 3 in our family who are no more.
