Today's performance was a typical one. Losing top order before hundred followed by a lone fightback followed by a limp finish to a mediocre total under 200. All according to the script.

Shakib was super in Champion league today look at Ash., Mushfique and others, pathetic strike rate !!!
Alok has proved that he should have been in the team in the past.

Shuvagoto has been extremely disappointing in this tournament. His List A average now hovers around 18. I'm in a quandary about whether he should be dropped for the upcoming series or be persisted with. Alok has played a timely knock that should be in the selector's minds when they come together to pencil the squad. He has also shown his ability to bat in the PP overs which is something that will definitely work in his favour. Elias is banging on the doors of national selection now. Shahadat also bowled well but remains inconsistent. Is it worth the gamble to get some extra pace and aggression in the attack? Lots of interesting choices to be made.

I'm very optimistic this time that he will be picked. I mean he got plenty of experiences, performed many times under pressure on the big stages, he is a good fielder also some time can bowl too.. he is a valuable asset for the team.

He is my player of the match. Superb. He should be walking into the team blindly. He has everything to be a genuine all rounder in the team. It's not because of today only. He is being deprived/penalized for ICL, which isn't fair at all. We should leave it behind.

The advantage Alok has is Bashar, Nannu and Akram all know his quality very well. He definitely is the missing link that we needed during the World Cup when Ashraful was selected ahead of him but Alok himself is to be blamed for acting like Chris Gayle ( but not performing like one). I earnestly hope that I can see his wonderful innings once more like he did against India during Asia Cup or during his match against Pakistan in Multan!!

We really do need variety in our team and he adds. Unfortunately we don't understand the value of experience, variety and we lack in identifying characters who are working hard to improve.

This reflects in other fields also, if grocery is hit in one area, you wii find almost all corners of the area will get filled with groceries overnight. And then they all lose, because there isn't any customer remaining for a viable business forvanyone. Instead a variety could have made it profitable for all.

Now our deadly SLAs are on the verge of death, because the opponents didn't have to dedicate much time to work on our bowling, just prepare for SLAs, it's done. A variety could have put pressure on their time for prep, as such leave a scope for all to survive. It's a crude comparison but that's what the lack of variety is doing to us. Having one subject and five subjects to prepare definitely matters for a student.

@ DhakaBlues, they all know, but they are all stubborn and it's the ICL issue that's still keeping them biased. Until there is a massive change in BCB, this issue will keep living, when ever there will be no other issue against a player, this will crop up. We place our ego/personal benefits before the team/nation always. Look at our politics.BCB isn't any different than our politicians.

I hope players like Alok (there are a few others), who never gives up and keeps trying/improving through self help, gets the support of the non political stake holders of the game, I.e. Fans, players, experts etc. Their hard working nature and a perseveringly attitude could be the real asset for the team. We lack this attitude in general. Even academy boys were trying to justify their losses/poor performance in practice matches, on lack of practice after even SA tour. When did Alok have a practice/tour In last 3+ years? how could he even remain fit? Does it show some difference?

Im happy that guys like Mash is backing him. We all need to stand up for such kind of guys, for our cricket. We can't expect a tendulkar is sleeping inside each of the upcoming players.

Sorry, was it too long.... .?

The pitch must have been really difficult to bat on - even Tamim seemed to have struggled.

About Alok, if they do pick him, they should probably let him play a few games before dropping him again. We know these guys are slow learners and incapable of transitioning from domestic to international cricket after lengthy gaps.
