An international player not getting a bat sponsor; it's not rare. But most have sponsors.

Good on Tamim to step up.
BCB should have been the 1st entity to provide the assistance.

Not only women cricketers, but in all other sports sadly. The girls have done well in football and not much recognition.

why is this news? She didn't get bat sponsor. Tamim got her a bat. Big deal. Maybe should be a story many months later told by the girl in an interview or something....
and who stole her bat?

Had she called any body.. she would have equally gotten a bat. LOL

350 dollars monthly salary.. what a joke. These are the brave women breaking boundaries representing your country and way to compensate them.. Our local companies should step up their game too. Does any body have data on how many women sportsman they are sponsoring vs how mjuch women spending on their products??... I am pretty sure grameen phone money is all coming from women chatting away nonstop.... they should sponsor these girls.

all those shaari ad, nivea cream, make up, women hygene, phone... so many companies can pick them. SAD!!

well those ads are for women and I doubt even 75 woman among the 75 million woman in the country knows our female cricketers. tbh I don't think even 75 men know all of them. unfortunetly our woman cricketers are not that big draw to attract sponsors

I cant blame to companies..they are here to do business not run charity

Ah no. It doesn't quiet work that way all the time.

it's similar to saying it's perfectly fine that in all the tech companies all employees are male as they get the work done when half of their customers are female. And they don't have a duty to promote and hire more women workers with equal talent?

Grameen phone uses nationality, pride to advertise very effectly... and these women are a cause of celebration for the country.

Don't let big corporations let off so easily of their social responsibilities. So your comment on they are not there to "run charity" is inappropriate.

Yunus talks so much &&&& about women empowerment in foreign media but reality is he is making money off of them but when it comes to sponsoring a women team they cna't do it yeah? Anything Grameen related is because of women.

Night Wolf if women cricket do not bring in enough money should BCB shut it down completely? or should they try to develop it further with some of the millions of dollars they are getting from men's team? what do you think? Would that also be a charity or part of cricket development in the country and part of their responsibiities?

anyways if BD women team do not have a sponsor (i am not sure if they do). they should certainly have one. It is also the responsibility of the ppl running that to get those. these are prmitive thing... parar team in the west even get sponsors.
