Sirius Broadband!
I think you already know that Sirius Broadband is suspended and banned by BTRC from 20th March, 2010. It's about one and half month. I am a user of Sirius Broadband.
Does anyone know what is the status of the company?
Is there any chance of it to back in service?

BTRC went on a rampage shutting down some ISPs last month for "illegal" VOIP business. One day my father tells me that ISN (bangla.net), Grameen Cybernet (citechco.net) and others have been shut down. My friend working for a company in the telecom/ISP industry told me the same day that BTRC has been shutting everyone down.
Thankfully, my ISP Agni has not been affected till date. Other ISPs such as bangla.net and citechco.net may have paid enough "fines"/ghush to get back online.
On the other hand, in Banani I have noticed at around that time some City Corporation vans and crews were going around for a week, and cutting the fibre optic wires hanging between telephone/electricity poles and leaving them hanging down to the ground in a mess.

We users are the losers ultimately. Because we paid them huge fee as connection charge. Paid the monthly subscription fee too. But for one and half months, we are out of service.
Jodio ei shomoy tara kono bill pathai nai. Tobuo amader loss because amra connection fee disi. Notun ekta line niteu abar connection fee dite hobe. Ar shetau je bondho hobe na gurantee ki?
Ei shob khetre ekta alternate bebostha kora uchit age. Othoba service chalu rekhe boro ongker jorimana kora uchit company guloke. Ebhabe bondho kore dile user rai beshi loser hoi.
By the way does anyone have any sort of update regarding this issue?

Old school friend works/owns Sirius Broadband. Just had a chat with him. He told me they are coming back online either today or tomorrow. Depending on the how much money the regulators wants and how fast they can "approve" it. Confirmed the shut off was VOIP related.
No promises, just passing the word on.
I am not in BD, so can't give you anymore info other than what he told me.

I really enjoy Howard Stern on the Sirius Redio! It will be a deadly blow for me!
