Default kahled masud

im really dissapointed that he has decided to resign as captain. it must be a really ha5rd job but i do think he was good at it, the truth is he cant perform miracles without a really good team behind him

But captancy is nothing if you don't win even the little matches.

According to Wisden, Khaled Mashud is the worst fielder for Bangladesh in the world cup. He gave away more runs, dropped more catches than anyone else.
(In contrast, Alok Kapali is the best fielder for BD as he saved a few runs).

So, Pilot is not (always) the good captain that we all have been hoping for.

Mashud had a terrible world cup (so did everybody else but he is usually just a little bit better than the rest). His batting could have been better, and his fielding (as fwullah mentions) was really bad. Inspite of all these things, I still think that he had a lot of leadership spirit in him and l am sad to see him go.

Default As a fan of Pilot

I don't see much reason to keep Pilot as the captain. Unless he goes through an intensive training on field placing, bowler rotation and work on the aggressiveness - he will do us more harm then good as a captain.

Just look at the Kenya game - see how he missed the chance to bring in he pacers (who did SO well in the beginning) when Kenya were down to 100-odd for 5. We could have easily got them bowled out for (way) under 200. Watch the match again closely and ut somethough into it and you will see it clearly.

Pilot the player on the other hand has been my favorite BD player for his consistant performance down the order. He seemed like the only one who cared enough to get the team out of really bad scores (without him, we could have been allout within 100 in atleast 5-6 occasions).
