Since the 93* against Srilanka, Sakib > Rafique (bowling) + Ash + Aftab
(* No disrespct meant to Rafique)

Ash and Aftab in the same side of an equation as Rafique? That's an insult to the great man.

My thought exactly.........you beat me to it.
More often than not we get carried away too early and then we get vegetable like Ash....so take it easy and let Shakib continue this great journey that he just started. All the best to him.

In agreement here.
He should be able to put his name on that board when its all said and done. Until then- 1. Bashar 2. Rafiq 3. Nannu/Akram Khan/ Athar Ali Khan.

Despite all the flaws, I believe Ash should have a place in the best five.

Completely disagree in this perspective.
What Sakib has done in few weeks, most of your 'mega stars' could not do it, on the field, in few years.
We go by our players achievements, what they have already achieved, without any span of time of their achievements, and any future projection.
One 'mega star' wins a game in five years, another under rated player wins two tests in two weeks.
Then why should you wait for the end of their careers for your individual assessment given that we are looking for a point of time assessment, not for a complete sports career assessment?

with due respect to Ian and Dr Z, i believe Ian meant not ask these type of question about any current Bangladeshi player yet. Faguner agun is right in his argument.

Atleast for today , A BIG YES !!!!!!
Some players shrink under pressure and some player rise unde pressure. By this time there should be no confusion what type of player he is.

Hopefully by his 38th Birthday when he is at the brink of retirement, his name will be taken in the same breath as Allan Border and Imran Khan.
Hopefully he will be knighted by the Queen like Allan Border (hope he being brown doesn't hinder that). The royal cow needs to knight someone decent to make up for knighting Rushdie.
