i am really intereseted to see what our bowlers have in store for lara and his boys. speacially rana.

we need to try to put up 300 idealistically, realistically 280.

man Shariq is right: our batsmen are succumbing to the W Indian spinners, not their pacemen. this is strange. we are supposed to play spinners well, we have so many good ones.

Tareq/Tapash can probably add 15-20 runs more..

Lets hope our bowlers can make Life very difficult for the WI batsmen!.. specially Tapash-Rafiq-Rana... best wishes to Tareq as well!

Let us not expect any more runs from our tailenders. Soon, they will start to feel the pressure of expectations. I think the whole world now expects runs from them. I want them to bowl well and I have said this so many times, our fielding should be top class. Give all that you have. Contrary to common belief, we might have a chance in this match. But we have to attack from the first ball. West Indies teams have never coped well under pressure, except when Lloyd was their skipper.

Expecting best performance of bowlers and fielders today. In that case, 264 runs are OK.:P:P

One comment on Hannan. No matter how much we criticize Hannan, he is in this test team. My suggestion is for him to bat at #2, meaning not to face the first ball of the innings. It just might benefit us. Once he overcomes this barrier may be he will score as he can. Often these things are in the head.

I aggree with Cricket46. I also recommend that Hannan should not leave the first ball alone however difficult it may be.

Leaving the ball is the problem for him isn't it? he was LBW twice and bowled once when he tried to leave.... (in WI series)

Hannan should do a Gayle and not take first strike in the second innings.

I have a feeling that Tareq will be the most successful amongst our bowlers. With a few drop catches, luck didn't go to his favour on 1st test.

I don't care how much more runs Tapash & Tareq gonna add this morning. I would suggest them to stay at wicket as long as they can. And pls pls pls...don't drop the catches! This is the prime request to our boys from all the tiger fans.

well put Nav! every over T and T play out the windies will miss out playing on today In tests, staying at the wicket and playing out overs can be as important as scoring runs.

Go Tigers!

Tareq deserves some luck this test. He has a lot of heart and this pitch should a miniscule bit still left perhaps for the faster bowlers.

Default Taposh gets a boundary

Today grass has sprouted through the top soil but not expected to
play a major role yet.

Hello everyone. I'm an ignorant of cricket.
Can anyone please tell me what the follwing means:

"Today grass has sprouted through the top soil but not expected to
play a major role yet."

I mean how grass grow in pitch? My understanding was that pitch is a specially
prepared turf for cricket. And how the existance of grass affects the game?

Thank you in advance.

yes pitches are not as naked as you think. they do have grass on them, and the grass is especially helpful for fast bowlers - it gets them bounce as well as some movement off the pitch. however, this growth is definitely not as big as the one u see in the outfield.

a pitch without any grass is a batting friendly one; cracks and rough patches often help spinners to turn the ball.

Hey guys, missed the afternoon session yesterday. But I see the Tigers doing what they do best; batting to the death with some composure.

oh man...hats off to these doudle T's! A great mental gesture! Tino Best is there trying to pounce out our poor tail enders, but then we see how bravely they make Best to "worse" and frustrate the Windies
