Default Another infamous Bangladeshi collapse

So once again today we were in a fairly good position and needed to put on a decent score for England to chase, but once again our boys failed to put enough runs on the board. We are also 6 wickets down. Its so heartaching seeing the same thing happen again and again. Whenever England come to bat this pitch seems as flat as a pancake but as soon as Bangladesh come to bat its like all of a sudden it turns into a bowlers paradise!!!!!
When are these guys gonna learn uffffffffff

it wasn't a collapse per se...such batting is typical in test cricket - i.e markedly low 3rd and 4th innings score due to fatigue, pressure, and in our case de facto cheating on the part of the english due to the umpires.

our boys are only human and only so much can be expected of them. they're not robots.

what they have endured is similar to mild torture and expecting no reaction is just being even more cruel. blame the real culprits: the umpires and the BCB for not springing for the UDRS first chance they got. and Nimbus if they're overcharging us. even the english team cannot be blamed.

Except Tamim, all were out with genuine good ball. Yesterday, Tamim was not comfortable at all. His mindset was totally different than what was on the offer from the pitch and bowlers. Pitch was turning considerably. Hope BD bowlers can produce some of those bowling tomorrow.

Going into England's tour of Bangladesh, my expectation was 0-3 in the ODIs and two fifth-day stints in the Tests with possibly a draw. That I thought was a realistic expectation and I'm not complaining. Batting in the second inning of the last game of the tour in hot and humid conditions is difficult and ideally, we'd declare at 200 and set them a target of 350, i.e. had the umpires not been so incompetent. England didn't have to score much in the second inning of the first Test either, thanks to a good first inning lead. When you score as many runs as we did here (419), you shouldn't have to bat equally well in your second inning provided your bowlers do their jobs (which they did) and the umpires aren't crap (which they're not; I mean they're not not crap).

This is no collapse. BD batting has definitely improved, though the bowling has declined, Atherton brought out a good point: the reason weaker sides seem to get more wrong decisions are because they create fewer chances.. with our weak bowling we created fewer chances and the incompetent umpires failed to give the few that were out.

If there is Justice in this world, this test will be a draw, Shakib & Co. need to now grind it out.. (though bowling 66 overs can take a toll on Shak) I wish they could have turned their anger into concentration in batting and lost fewer wickets.. but still possible.. still

IMO, English fielders made up for all the bad umpirings with number of dropped catches (both in 1st and 3rd innings), it will be a real shame if we still lose.

Our bowlers except for shakib were not potent enough and allowed (with some help from the umpires) the english to rescue the match. Unless we bowl exceptionally well tommorrow we cant win or draw. I think the maximum runs the last few batsmen can get tommorrow will be another 15 if they play well.

How come that makes up what umpire did to us? We would have taken a lead of at least 100 runs, and think about the moral boost had it happened. Nothing to be ashamed of for the BD team, especially after the way they played so far even if the result is a loss. If someone has to be ashamed it's those crocked umpires.

there is a difference still. when u drop catches u can only blame the other team. thats part of the game. getting half of the wrong decisions is also part of the game.

but getting 1 out of 10 howlers is not part of the game, even if the 50-50 decisions are split.

being struck on the pads plumb in front is technically out, regardless of what the umpire says. that is definition of "leg before wicket". the umpires job is adjudge it...he cannot change reality.

however a dropped catch is simply a dropped catch. it is not technically out, because the laws of cricket state that catches have to be held for a batsmen to be out.

No way!!!

Starting an innings with 77 runs deficit is not the same as starting the innings with more than 100 runs lead. You also have to consider that our batsmen have been less tired while coming to bat as they were expected to start the innings yesterday.

the truth of the matter is that we chose razzak to bowl, he just wasn't good enough, we have no murali in our line-up so we have to take advantage ofthe limited we have, razzak was too wayward and just not up to the mark;
he has never been great in tests and i hope this isthe last we see of him - we shud have shuvo and saqlain and train them as much as possible

We should hire Murali as a coach when he retires.

better teams have beater bowlers who create more opportunities.

weaker teams create fewer chances so the decisions get magnified.

its the harsh truth guys.

Ex: Tamim got dropped 4 times yesterday, still they picked him up within a few balls.

the difference was the wickets did not fall in quick succession. a partnership was starting to grow run wise or delivery wise and the a wicket fell. it was not a sudden collapse. it was more like wickets at regular interval.

the frustatitng thing is .... we should have got a lead of 120 where we got a deficit of 77. that is 120+77= 197 runs. so actually at this point we could have been 95+197=292 run lead.

anyway we are improving. lets keep on going. we will have a tough time in england. but we also expected tough time at NZ but we did well. so lets try to do well in england too.

then back home in NZ......... i fancy our test win
