Default New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh 2019

Its a preparation tour for both teams essentially. For New Zealand, they will look to get some essential practice against spin because pretty much every time in the WC will have a decent spin attack. For Bangladesh, it will be learning how to not get out in away conditions.

New Zealand ODI squad

Kane Williamson (capt, games 1 and 2), Todd Astle, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Colin Munro (Game 3), Jimmy Neesham, Henry Nicholls, Ross Taylor, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee

Bangladesh ODI Squad

Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan, Mohammad Mithun, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nayeem Hasan, Shafiul Islam, Sabbir Rahman

We are still waiting for Shakib's replacement. Will it be another "complete package"?

Don’t know the replacement but I will go with my choice anyways.

congratulations Yasir Ali. Have a breakthrough tournament!

(He batted with Mushfiq the last 60 days in 11 innings. The guy he is replacing was slotted next to mushfiq)

Mid 30 average
3 fifties

If we don't get whitewashed, I'll consider that a success. that's how much I expect from this tour.

i dont think whoever is named the replacement will actually get to play a game in ODIs. Test, maybe because we dont take much bench strength for that format.

my team suggestion should be,

Tamim
Liton
Soumya
Mushy
Mithun
Riyad
Miraz
Saifuddin
Mash
Rubel
Fizz

With Shak gone, we now have to pick 5 full time bowlers. That means realistically only one of Mithun and Sabbir can play. With Shakib gone, Miraz is almost guaranteed to play otherwise his or Saifuddin's spot couldve gone to a specialist batsman or bowler (Shabbir or Nayeem)

The team is still very good on paper to be honest and almost as capable as it was with Shakib in it. We gotta understand that regardless of Shakib, our seamers have to play the crucial role and infact, in the last 1-2 years, our seamers have been the leading wicket takers in this format.

Cricket Khor's in house pundit Kawsar bhai joined us for a chat. We talked about the whole upcoming New Zealand trip in general, but more or less focused on the ODI series. Lovely guy. But too humble, mostly agreed with Rinat's every point. Haha. Will have him back for sure.

Naeem doing good ... really good sings for BD . Also he managed to bat well ... it means we can expect 20 odd runs from him at end of the tail.

Good to see Sabbir firing his bat up front of the hatters ... he’s 40 came with 6 boundaries...mash knew why we needed him ... again musfiq was the key of BD batting .... mithun, Liton , somaya joined in lawn service company of Nz green tour.

Mushfiqur
Mahmudullah
Sabbir
Saifuddin
Miraz
Mash
Fizz
Rubel

Much rather see Khaled and Yasir than Rubel and Sabbir..

Mithun is a way better option than Sabbir , he had Gayle , AB, Hales and Rossouw above him in BPL so people didn't notice him much this BPL

No AB, No Gayle, No Hales this time.

He came 3 down after 6 overs... had 44 overs to give Dullah some company

Played 5 balls. NEXT!

mithun is a hack. That he is in ahead of Mosaddek (first class average 60, list A average 40) is a violation of human rights.

Sabbir is another hack, but he can still be useful down the order for cameos.

Nasir would be a better pick than Mithun.

Unfair to drop Mithun now. He had useful knocks in Asia cup. actually let me re-iterate, crucial knocks that helped Bangladesh make it to the finals of the Asia cup to begin with. He did his job against Zimbabwe too(finished games with minimal fuss).

I am still not convinced if he is a long term solution but at least he has earned the privilege and right to play for the national team for at least NZ series and the series after that...
