Default Younis opts out of remaining ODIs

http://content-www.cricinfo.com/bagg...ry/346095.html

Younis Khan has pulled out of Pakistan's squad for the remaining three one-day internationals against Bangladesh, citing the need for rest. Younis asked the selectors to be omitted from the squad, a wish the committee granted.

"He asked us for rest and we agreed," Salahuddin Ahmed, chief selector, told Cricinfo. "It gives us a chance to give some other players a go as well, guys like Bazid Khan and Fawad Alam in the batting."

Younis has seemed out of sorts in the first two matches, scoring 1 and 13. Before the first ODI in Lahore he had threatened to pull out of the match, apparently disturbed by an interview with officers from the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) about a function he attended on the tour to India in 2007. There is bound to be speculation that the pull-out is related to that, though Salahuddin denied it, saying only that Younis had cited 'personal reasons.'

No other changes have been made to the squad ahead of the third ODI against, with Pakistan sticking to a reduced 15-man squad. If Pakistan wrap up the series on Sunday in Lahore, it is likely new faces will be inducted into the squad for the remaining games.

Squad: Shoaib Malik (capt), Salman Butt, Nasir Jamshed, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal (wk), Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Bazid Khan, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Fawad Alam

Cricinfo predicts changes in the Pak team for 3rd ODI.

Quote:
With Younis Khan pulling out of the remainder of the series, Pakistan will be forced to make at least one change. Bazid Khan, the right-hand middle-order batsman who's making a comeback after three years, is one of the options. However, the captain Shoaib Malik spoke of playing an extra bowler, and that could give an opportunity for Fawad Alam, the allrounder who bowls left-arm spin. Umar Gul, back in the squad after recovering from a back injury, could be rested in favour of Sohail Khan, the promising right-arm seamer. For Bangladesh, Shahriar Nafees will be under pressure to retain his place after two failures.

The writer is spot on about Shahriar. Aftab and Ashraful can at least make excuses that they were victims of bad umpiring in the last match, but Shahriar gave away his wicket in both matches (fishing outside his offstump in both occasions).

I think he was afraid of finishing a series against Bangladesh with a low poor average.
So, citing "personal reasons", he runs, but not with the bat.

Bazid is already in the squad. I saw him play against WI and I think he got a fifty He is quite solid in defence and took his time to get there.

Younus just got scared of the Bangladeshi bowlers and decided to opt out. He's also probably looking forward to the IPL season too much and wants to be fresh for that.

Younis returns for fifth ODI

http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/pakv...ry/346784.html

Younis Khan has been included in Pakistan's 16-man squad for the fifth ODI against Bangladesh, after making himself available for selection. His decision comes days after opting out of the series citing the need for rest. Upon the conclusion of the second ODI, Younis had asked to be omitted for the remainder of the series, a wish the selectors grated for the subsequent two ODIs.

The selectors have made one more change, bringing in Wahab Riaz, the left-arm seamer, in place of Sohail Khan, who took career-best figures of 3 for 30 in Pakistan's seven-wicket win over Bangladesh yesterday. However, Cricinfo has learned that the selectors were satisfied with Sohail's performance and are looking to "nurture" him for the future, but wanted to give an opportunity to Wahab, who had made his ODI debut in the home series against Zimbabwe.

The fifth ODI, which will be a day-night encounter, will be played in Karachi on April 19.

Squad Shoaib Malik (capt), Salman Butt, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal (wk), Sarfraz Ahmed, Fawad Alam, Bazid Khan, Naumanullah, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar, Wahab Riaz

I think after opting out, Younis visited BC and saw all the blood-boilings posts that he's scared of the BD bowling attack. That's why he's back

I am looking forward to Younis in the line up. "Baash koto prokar or ki ki" he needs to know first hand. There will be an essay competition among the Pakistani players after the match. The topic is "Muli Baash".

Or they wanna further humiliate us, not that they need middle order when we cant even get their openers. Hope our boys shows some tricks in the last ODI.
