Little unfair. We ve brought him in to work on our fielding and then expected him to work miracles with our batting.

BCB more than the individual is to blame here.

Nevertheless a fresh start with a new head coach and his preferred specialized coaches will also be better.

Fresh start? we need to get rid of the dead woods as well.
BCB mgt needs to be refreshed, otherwise we'll see this being repeated.

^Well said. Get rid of papon and chacha. Tamim, Nasir, Razzak should get the drop as a wake up call. Need drastic changes.

Per Richard McCinnes, he is the one who worked with Enamul Haque Bijoy and Shamshur Rahman and the results are visible. He is the coach that won titiles for T20 teams in Australia and we used him as a fielding coach??? I guess, the board can't be too far from how the country is run these days, can it? They have better future ahead of them-- that can't be said for BD team though!!

Exactly same feeling here. You can only feel happy if you have enormous faith in BCB's wisdom and capability. Otherwise you pray in fear so that they don't select another Mohsin Kamal.

How is Corry Richards as a head coach?

From his comments in cricinfo, he is determined to become a head coach somewhere as he had previous experience and also achieved results with Sydney Sixers. And it also shows that he might have been interested on that post in Bangladesh if approached. Read -

* "Richards said he is looking for a bigger role in coaching, particularly having been so successful in that position for the Sydney Sixers. "I am seeking more head coaching roles and the opportunity for that in Bangladesh doesn't appear available in the immediate future."
* "With the experience and success that I have had in my head coach career to date, I am looking at potential opportunities to continue my development and career."

So why cant we have him? Is he bad or something? Of course, if he is a head coach material, you cant really judge him by fielding results (especially when our gems like Nasir day dream about Mehzabin when ball is in the air ). Just my 2 cent.

He was fired yesterday after they released Jurgensen. He didn't resign. Where do these tv channels get their news from?

Nope! Only the physio and the Analyst left (Nasir Ahmed Nasu). Everything has been relatively wiped clean. Good luck to BCB finding a new coaching staff before the India series. The way things are going, we might have to wait till January (a month before WC) to fill up everything.

We are not looking for Actuarial Scientists! We are looking for cricket trainers. I am sure we ll be able to find very soon.

We musnt kill ourselves over the India tour. We should take our time and identify the right candidate. We are not looking for a turnaround strategist. This team is not as bad as we are labelling them. Just a few months ago we were saying the team has had the best two years since 2000. Any reasonable coach should be able to get us performing at a competitive level again. And this can be done in a short time. The team is not in such a backward position that it requires a coach to work a year or two to get us in line.

For "Actuarial Scientists", its easy to identify who is real and who is fake. For "cricket trainer" its hard to distinguish between real and fake whne they don't have a clear track record.

India tour may be more than another tour. A bad performance will cost us years to come. With a bad performance, who knows how long we have to wait for next chance o play against them.

Time flies. If BCB doesn't take the task seriously, it may take years before we can find a new coach. BCB is historically slow to react, don't go with a plan and have unrealistic expectation. Just beacuse BCB wants someone doesn't mean they will get him. Money is a factor, but no all the factors why someone can reject our offer.

They said the 2012 Asia Cup was the start of a new era for Bangladesh. But i think this is the start of a new era for Bangladesh cricket.

When so many professionals leave us midway like this, it makes me wonder how difficult it is to work under BCB.

Believe me...it is as difficult as climbing the mount Everest, or may be even harder.

"We had to attend a couple of meetings after we had losses during the World Cup and the Sri Lanka series. The reaction to the losses was disappointing and was sort of tough to handle sometimes, since we were already in pressure situations. It made it difficult to coach," he said.
The 'systemic' battles was one which Jurgensen won in most cases, as he always managed to find a way to sync in with the system. The manner in which he created an alternative fast-bowling programme -- a proposal which he had reportedly submitted back in 2011 only for it to gather dust -- for instance, showed exactly that.

Well we can't accuse Jurgensen of not trying with our pacers.

The A team to WI will be coached by Corey Richards, who resigned just four days ago. Since he will be serving a two-month notice period with the BCB, it was decided that he would be in charge for the West Indies tour.
