nice piece. there are just so many cases like this - so many people had to lose so much to provide us with a nation of our own, and look how we are sending it to waste; and it's only been 35 years. simply pathetic.

Nice piece. And yes most of your generation havent got enough idea about muktijuddho.
The thing that bothers me the most is how we treat our muktijuddhas. I remember reading an article in prothom- alo 2 years back about this muktijuddha who could nt get a bed at a hospital for 2 weeks because he did not have money. It was really sad

A well written piece with full of literal value. Thank you Omio!

আগে ভাবতাম মা জলের তলে নতুন করে সংসার করছে। ডুব সাতার দিয়ে খোঁজার চেস্টা করতাম অনেক সময়।
Amazing description of thoughts!!
You touched my heart with these lines!!

oshadharon! Really liked the piece, specially those richly-used metaphors.
With every passing day here abroad, it feels more and more awful to realize how the determination, struggle and glory of '71 barely signify anything for those who're part of our generation and growing up away from Bangladesh. They can no longer convey (or understand even) any feelings similar to those expressed through this little story of yours.
