Why can't they just combine all players together and put them in one list and just give each player a different base price. Why would they even need to do Category A, B, C. And not to mention foreign and local? What's up with that.

Wait till the player list come out. We will probably see Ash, Alok, SN in Category A with Shakib, just like what they did with icon player system last season.

So who are the 'Golden players'? I hope this poll list for locals only, that will preserve the interest of local players.
Its good to see minimum base salary of 20k, allthough overall it looks like it got cheaper with 75k for Cat A foreign players. I hope they will find their desired performers with that price. Any news about those fraud franchises like Dhaka Gladiators and others who breached the contract (oral) by not paying players and staff on due time? Will they represent BPL again?

BPL might fail to attract some quality players in the future. Don't see players like Gayle, Afridi, Pollard coming to play for that little money.

considering that BPl player salary is no longer in the FICA agenda ( http://www.thefica.com/en/current-issues)...that BPL paid at least the foreign players...locals however have some settlements to be resolve (some of the icon players from last season wont get their full dues for sure)...having said that the locals would still appreciate bpl..since any money is better than no money (no bpl, nothing extra in the pocket)....this going rate for cricketers for leagues can be considered inflated due to ipl)...however, it is still good money in bpl considering that it is only a 3 weak gig for int players who doesn't have any commitments at that time..the money is still more than competitive compared to other gigs baring ipl.....

Even as a Bangladeshi I am not interested in watching any local BD players because the quality of cricket will be low... hell other than Shakib I am far more interested in watching the overseas players. There should be atleast 5 overseas players so that the quality of cricket is atleast decent. And by overseas players I mean good ones like Ajmal/ Gayle.. not mediocre ones that BPL 1 had.

^ Well look atTrego and Gibbs as a player. Gibbs has played in IPL, Big Bash league. Even now when he is not exactly in his prime people still want him in their team. As for Trego who exactly knows him? I never heard of his name until last CLT20. Trego and Gibbs probably have completely different set of mindset/standard. While Trego might see BPL as a place where he can earn some extra money, Gibbs will see it as it's not worth the trouble for him, he still has other options.
