ঢাকা, ১৬ মার্চ (বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকম) --- মেজাজ হারিয়ে বাংলাদেশ অধিনায়ক মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল রোববার পিটিয়েছেন এক দর্শককে। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীদে� � ভাষ্য অনুযায়ী, মিরপুর শেরেবাংলা স্টেডিয়ামের নয় নাম্বার গেট দিয়ে দুপুরে ইনডোরে যাওয়ার সময় দর্শকরা তার উপর গালিগালাজের বৃষ্টি ঝরাচ্ছিলেন। তাতেই মেজাজ হারিয়ে বাংলাদেশ অধিনায়ক চড়াও হন জালাল নামের এক গার্মেন্টস কর্মীর ওপর। তাকে গোটাতিনেক চড়-থাপ্পড় লাগানোর পর ফুঁসে ওঠা দর্শকদের নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে পুলিশ।

মাঠে তখন প্রিমিয়ার লিগের টোয়েন্টি টোয়েন্টির ফাইনালে আবাহনীর সঙ্গে খেলছে সিটি ক্লাব। সেসময়েই প্র্যাকটিসের জন্য স্টেডিয়ামে আসা জাতীয় দলের সদস্যরা নয় নাম্বার গেট দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন ইনডোরে। আর ওই গেট দিয়েই রোববার গ্যালারিতে ঢোকার সুযোগ পেয়েছেন দর্শকরাও। ইনডোর আর তার আশপাশের জায়গাতেও দর্শকদের অবাধ বিচরণ। গত কিছুদিনে বাংলাদেশ দলের মাঠের খারাপ পারফরম্যান্সের প্রেক্ষিতে এসব বিষয় ক্রিকেটারদের নিরাপত্তা নিয়েও উদ্বেগ তৈরি করেছে।

যার চূড়ান্ত প্রকাশ ঘটেছে রোববার। এর আগে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বিপক্ষে সিরিজের দ্বিতীয় ওয়ানডের আগেরদিনও ইনডোরের সামনে গালিগালাজ শুনে এক দর্শকের দিকে তেড়ে গিয়েছিলেন মাশরাফি বিন মর্তুজা। যদিও আইসিসির নিয়ম অনুযায়ী এটা ব্যাপক শাস্তিযোগ্য অপরাধ। তবু গত কিছুদিনে এসব মাত্রা ছাড়িয়ে যাচ্ছিল বলেই জানালেন বাংলাদেশ দলের সহ-অধিনায়ক, "সহ্যের তো একটা সীমা আছে নাকি! আমিও তো মানুষ। রাগ-ক্ষোভ আমারও আছে। মা-বাবা তুলে গালি দেওয়ার পর কী কারো পক্ষে সহ্য করা সম্ভব।"

মাশরাফি অসম্ভব বলে মনে করলেও এদিন মাঠে থাকা অনেক সাবেক ক্রিকেটারই বলেছেন, আশরাফুলের ওভাবে দর্শকের ওপর চড়াও হওয়াটা ঠিক হয়নি। বাংলাদেশের প্রথম টেস্ট অধিনায়ক এবং বর্তমানে নির্বাচক নাঈমুর রহমানের ভাষ্য, "এরচেয়েও অনেক বেশি গালিগালাজ আমরা শুনেছি। কিন্তু কখনো এভাবে প্রতিক্রিয়া প্রকাশ করেছি বলে মনে পড়ে না।" কেন? সেটার একটা ব্যাখ্যা দিয়েছেন আরেক সাবেক অধিনায়ক খালেদ মাসুদ, "আমাদের দেশের মানুষের আবেগটা খুব বেশি। ভালো খেললে এরাই আবার আপনাকে মাথায় তুলে নাচবে। আবার খারাপ খেললে এরাই গালি দেয়। কাজেই এদের সঙ্গে ঝামেলায় না যাওয়াটাই বুদ্ধিমানের কাজ।" আশরাফুল অবশ্য এই ঘটনা সম্পর্কে কোনো মন্তব্যই করতে রাজী হননি।

কিন্তু ক্রিকেট দলের ওপর দর্শক রোষ তো একেবারে অজানা নয় বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিবি)। দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বিপক্ষে শেষ ওয়ানডের পরও মিরপুর স্টেডিয়ামে সামনে দর্শকরা আশরাফুলের পদত্যাগ দাবি করে ব্যানার নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন। সেখানে রোববার যে নয় নাম্বার গেটে ঘটনা, সে জায়গাটা একদমই অরক্ষিত। সেখানে যে কারো পক্ষেই ক্রিকেটারদের ওপর চড়াও হওয়া সম্ভব ছিল। ইদানীং মাঠেও অবাধে লোকজন ঢুকে পড়তে পারছেন। প্রোটিয়াদের বিপক্ষে দ্বিতীয় ওয়ানডের আগেরদিন সংবাদ মাধ্যমের মুখোমুখি আশরাফুলকে একের পর এক অপ্রাসঙ্গিক প্রশ্নে জর্জরিত করছিলেন সাংবাদিকদের কাছেও অচেনা একজন। পরের জেরার মুখে ওই ব্যক্তি স্বীকার করেন তিনি মিরপুরের একটি কলেজের ছাত্র। সুযোগ পেয়ে ঢুকে পড়েছেন মাঠে। এসব ব্যাপারে দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করা হলে মিরপুর শেরেবাংলা স্টেডিয়ামের ভেন্যু প্রশাসক কর্নেল একেএম জাকি (অব.) বলেন, "নিরাপত্তার বিষয়টা দেখে বিসিবির নিরাপত্তা কমিটি।" কিন্তু নিরাপত্তা কমিটির সদস্য সচিব মেজর (অব.) ইমরোজের সঙ্গে টেলিফোনে বারবার যোগাযোগের চেষ্টা করেও তাকে পাওয়া যায়নি।

জালাল নামের দর্শকটিকে ঘটনার পর পুলিশ আটক করলেও পরে ছেড়ে দিয়েছে।

Ashraful slaps spectator!

Dhaka, March 16 (bdnews24.com) – Mohammad Ashraful Sunday allegedly slapped a spectator for swearing at him during the Premier Cricket Twenty20 final match between Abahani and City Club at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS) in Mirpur.

Ashraful was on way to the Indoor Complex for practice from the SBNS gym when some 100 spectators, who were watching the final match, called the national team captain 'bhua' (rubbish).

A security guard, however, claimed that the spectators had verbally abused him from a close distance.

Ashraful reportedly lost his cool and slapped a boy named Jalal, a garment worker, on the gate that connects the SBNS with the Indoor Complex.

The spectators reacted angrily and demanded justice before the police intervened and pacified them.

Ashraful denied having slapped the spectator. "Nothing happened," was all he would say to the reporters on the alleged incident.

The spectators later cheered Aftab Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain and others on their way to the complex.

National pacer Mashrafee Bin Mortaza had reacted sharply to a spectator's comment in the practice on the eve of the second one-dayer against South Africa on March 12.

"Everyone has a limit to tolerate. It is not possible to keep yourself in check when you hear people abusing your parents," said Mashrafee Sunday about that incident.

The incident has also raised concerns over the security of the cricketers as the spectators get the chance to get alarmingly close to the national cricketers during the nets. Some of them even throw invectives at the players for lacklustre performance.

A few spectators with placards had also demanded resignation of Ashraful after the third and final one-dayer against South Africa on March 14 outside the Mirpur Stadium.

A college student even managed to enter the post-match briefing to query Ashraful harshly.

"The security committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board looks after these things," said AKM Jaki, administrator of the stadium.

"From now cricketers will not be allowed to go anywhere without police protection and we have conveyed the message to the team management after the incident," vice chairman of the BCB security committee Imroz Ahmed told bdnews24.com by phone.
"We heard so many ruthless words but never reacted to the spectators," said former national captain-turned-selector Naimur Rahman Durjoy, who was also there in the stadium.

This is not good. This is totally a negative impact. He is not performing well, but why did he go against fans. Fans would be disappointed about his batting and can tell bad things to him. This is reality, you have to face it. Ash lost his reputation to the people.

Ash again failed in another "Maturity Test". Thats why some of us were never comfortable when they announced Ash as a Caption. The statement that "Ash will do much better Bashar" never made me comfortable as that doesn't tell you much. Lot of player could have done batter than Bashar.

Thats why its risky to pick a captain, whose individual consistency was always a question Mark. Ash may be a match winner, but was never a consistent performer. basher was much more consistent player, and even then his problem (with the fans) started only after his form dipped down for a while.

But I liked Bashar's captaincy off the field, specially how he handled off the field incidents.

Thats again shows Ash's lack of maturity: in the field as well as off the field.

You cannot change people completely.

I don't know when we will realize that there are somethings you cannot convert.... its like trying to make silk purse out of a horse's rear.

Any report on what the spectator said/gestured to Ashraful? Its just the one side of coin we are seeing right now. If the spectator used vulgar comments/language then there is not much i can say about the issue.

There are some cases it doesn't matter. And this the perfect case to me where "It doesn't matter" what kind of vulgar comments/language the public used. Its not about defending that public.


Regardless whatever he said, this kind of reaction by a professional player (physically attacking) is not acceptable in any country, and it should be true for Bangladesh also. If a player react physically to verbal abuse (by fans), they always get banned, sometimes for extended time.

There is no other side of the story for this case. The only thing they can question is to validate if Ash really physically abused that guy or not.

এক জন নিজের রক্ত পানি করে খেটে খাওয়া শ্রমিক। সে ক্রিকেট প্রেমী দেখেই খেলা দেখতে গিয়েছে। গারমেণ্টস কর্মি দেখে তারা কি মানুষ না ? ওদের স্বভাব গালি গালাজ বলা সকল শ্রমিকদের প্রতি নির্মম আবিচার এবং হিংসাত্বক আচরন।

First of all I don't like this 'Kukur' analogy.

If we really need to bring 'kukur' analogy in out discussion then I think the analogy of the garment worker as 'kukur' doesn't make sense. It we really want to comapre one side with 'Kukur' it should be other way around, For example...
