BDFlag Congrats Bijoy for opening U19 WC with a Ton!

Super knock...had been in poor form, high score of just 22 from 4 innings vs England at home...warm ups didn't go well. Today came in on the 3rd ball of the innings in a world cup, clutch must-win type game to qualify and on an Australian track.

(mods please edit thread title if Asif joins him)

The fact that he's been in poor form and performed when the real comp started shows he's got some mental strength.

It was just a matter of time. The first of MANY more to come InshAllah. BIjauy and Ratul pretty much rescued Bangladesh from a potentially humiliating total with a well-paced, solid partnership after SoSa and LKD went cheaply. Nurul Hasan did too after Bijauy departed. Out top 5 still aren't clicking together.

yes but he scores when it MATTERS...193 and 58* were in the NCL Finals...year before final round scored 118 and 49. then this game which is a veritable qualification match.

now I will agree with you...Anam has a habit of starting tournies with a bang and fading a bit...lets see what he does here.

It's way too early to detect ANY sustainable pattern in Bijauy's performances and then make a reasonable comparison to Mtin at this point. What stats don't tell you is what you see with your own eyes, provided that you actually know what's going on.

Mtin is one in a billion. Literally bhinno JATER player.

Thrilled for Anamul!

Whatever happens he will always be a quality prospect. This 100 is a wonderful to message to fans like ermmm... MSM B2C for example... who didn't understand and probably still don't understand.

As I said before, even if Anamul scored 0 he is still a quality prospect regardless. It's how he develops with coaching from here that matters. The 100 simply proves why coaches and fellow players back Anamul. We ALL hope and pray this is only the start for him

Yes, this is a duplicate but I felt this was appropriate in this thread to acknowledge Anamul.

Good to see him come back after a string of disappointing performance - hope he lives up to the expectations in terms of consistency.

Congrats Anamul for leading from the front and scoring the first century in this year's U19 World Cup.
You did what was expected of you and took the team from a troublesome to a winnable position.

Don't be surprised if we see Anamul in the T20 World Cup squad, even if it is as an understudy.
The last group match is on the 16th and the last date to declare the WC Squad is 18th.
