Kapali at no.4?!
Kapali playing in the number four spot just amazes me. In the test, Kapali has proven that he can play with the bat if the need be and score some runs. That certainly DOES NOT constitue playing as a specialist batsment. In addition, this is Kapali's ODI debut. My question is does the BCB decide to batting line up or does the captain of the batting team decide who is going to play at what spot?
I have a feeling that Pilot has more sense than to play Kapali at number 4. Since the BCB decides the players who are going to play in the ODI, I am guessing it is the BCB. BCBs batting line up is simply shocking to say the least. When are we
ever going to see the selection board run by professionals rather than politicians.

Manu
If you recall the news few days back where BCB gave all power to Mr. Manu.
Pilot has more sense than this. I was surprised to see manju bat at number 7/8 in one of the innings just because he managed to play 70 odd minutes in the previous innings.

Shujon ?
Come on now, Shujon finishing his ten overs with 42 for 2. With all due respect to the guy, shouldn't we have others who can follow up.
By the way, is our second highest ODI wicket taker behind Shanto. Amazing, isn't it ? His bowling looks sooooo simple and weak.

The Coach is the Culprit
It was MOHSIN KAMAL the coach who decided that Kapali would go to bat at number four position.

hmm
It seems like an idotic decision indeed since Kapali failed. Actually, from the interviews of Mohsin, I got the feeling that he really likes kapali. He declared Kapali as a "True All-rounder" after the second test where Tapash scored more runs. So, I guess Mohsin really like Alok's batting style. This was just another 'bold' move to try out the young man at a different position. More importantly, Kamal probably believed all the TOP order batsman would fail - so why not bring the a good tail enders up. (An idea favored by many on this board - it may have been a 'joke' - but there is certainly a logic to it)
Therefore I don't blame the coach. (eventhough I want to - I don't like sub-continent ppl coaching bd cricket --shob chechchor)

BOLD it was
Remember Rafique's 77 run innings against Kenya in an ODI with a 139 run partnership with Athar ? That was amazing.
It was a nice try but let's plat Kapali at number 6 in the third ODI. Bechara ekhono notun, he need some time before building up his mojo. Also, jekhane Ash/Rokon parchena, okhane okey to dosh deya jaaina r dosh dibo-o na.
Anyways, look at this:
9.4 CRD Fernando to Alok Kapali, OUT: slower ball outside off, Kapali totally deceived and played high in the air, a litte looly pop in the hands of Jayasuriya
Bangladesh 27/3, Partnership of 11
Alok Kapali c Jayasuriya b CRD Fernando 5 (12b 0x4 0x6)
Habibul Bashar 7* (16b 1x4) CRD Fernando 4.4-1-15-2 (2w)

Number 3, 4 and 5 are the most importent positions. kapali is simply not fit for that position.
The problem is, good captains do take gambles like that, but thats educated moves, specially in the middle of the game reading the match condition. I have no idea how BD puts a somewhat all rounder in the regular 4th slot.
You want to call it bold? You can call it anything you want. It is simply dumb to me.
