Bangladesh cricket bats
I was wondering whether members had any knowledge of the kind of bats sold in Bangladesh. My father's going to Bangladesh in about a month and I want him to get me a bat from there. I already have a collection of Kookaburra, Slazenger and Gray Nicolls bats here in Australia, but have no clue on what bat brands are used there. Any help would be appreciated.

Umm...if you're playing in Australia you wouldn't want to use Bangladeshi bats. Bangladeshi bats have a low sweet spot which in Australia wouldn't be ideal as I understand that the pitches in Australia are bit more bouncier than in Bangladesh. Your current bats probably have a lower middle sweet spot which are better suited for the pitches in Australia.

If I'm not mistaken, SHAH manufactures bats in BD. Otherwise, mostly imported from Pakistan and India...Ihsaan, SS, AJ etc.

Thanks for your help everyone
I think most bats in BD are imported from India and Pakistan as BanCricFan said, and I wasn't really interested in using one during a match. It's more of a collection, but I still would prefer the best quality bat there.

Ash plays with Rbk. Now Hablu followed him. Mahela also plays with this one.
Al Hasan used to play with CA, so as SN. Now Shakib plays with SS. CA is the bat of Inzy
Mashud used to play with MALIK. When I first saw Pakistan's Shoaib Malik playing with a Malik bat, then I thought "wow, he wrote his name in his bat"
Now decide which one to buy.

Thanks a lot BD-Shardul
I like the shape of the Reebok one. I also like the CA one. Toss up between those 2 most likely.

i think u cud go for Reebok bats. most of the asian players r using it now a days. even Chris gayle usues reebok. and may be u can try for some hand made bats. may b from india..or there is one in the UK called Fusion. they deal with Gray nicles.

I bought a SF bat from Inter Sports (elephant road) 3 yrs ago and it was great. Light pickup, low sweet spot. Great bat if u want to play in the air. BD players were used to use this bat before. I will probably go with Matrixx now for this season.

A bat with light pick up and a pretty low sweet spot sounds good to me, though the reebok looks to be the most popular in terms of international choices. I'm going for one only used in Asia since I have plenty of Australian and international brand bats. CA 10000 sounds good according to Sadi, as well as the Matrixx (Tamim uses it ). I'll have to ask my father to buy a few more than just one...doubt he'll fit it all into his baggage limit though...Thanks again everyone

whatever u do, make sure its proper english willow and not kashmir willow and also avoid the ones that say 'english willow nutured in india', as thats the same as kashmir lolz. U probably know this but also do tell ur father to test the spring on the bat etc.

'Deshi Jhata' might also be a good option! This has been used to a good effect by some of our legendary players, JO in particular.

this is my bat
Lovely to use the flick of the wrist with this bat, which is harder to do with more curved bats, which I dislike.
And the pick up is so light, its amazing, produces a lovely ping when you hit it dead on the mid bald sweet spot.

Guys, do you know any stores that know how to fix cracks in bats? I bought a new bat from BD 6 months ago and now I already cracked it!
