Take that Anamul lovers, this guy is here to stay. Loved the way he took singles at ease and kept rotating the strike even after getting tired which never really allowed his SR to go down. Yeah, he may be a shaky starter but his technique and footwork is definitely a hell lot better than Mr. Glued-Feet VJ.

Feeling for not getting the 100. But he looks way better batsman than Bijoy from the technical point.

Yet another humble pitha for the series for me..

Used to rate him as kayes 2.0, but he can surely secure the opening spot with Tamim. Certainly deserves more opportunities, more than Bijoy...

All this time we are crying out for a decent partner for Tamim (and keep going back to garbage like Shahriar Nafees). It sure is a welcome change to see a couple of good players (Shuvo, Bijoy) vying for the spot. It's also good to see Zunaed doing what he needs to do in the Dhaka league to keep those two under pressure to perform.

Please don't start this already. He only played just one good innings. Tamim has played this sort of innings, matter of fact even better. Check out his 125 against Eng and 154 against Zim.

Ya I agree. Let's stop going overboard. It's not like we haven't seen a big score from an opener before. Shamsur looked good I agree but the big test now is whether he sustains this success which a lot of other openers could not prove.

well done Shuvo...I like this kid's demeanor and the fact that he's capable of switching gears he's shown us in only 2 matches

Great to see an opener besides Tamim doing well after a very long time. He looks like he's got what it takes to be a successful opener at this level. Let's hope he can sustain the success unlike many other openers that we've tried. Don't forget, our other guys played some good knocks but failed to sustain success. So that's why I'll keep my feet grounded for now but it feels relieving that we can go in to the SL ODI series knowing who will be our opening partner.

If he can beat out the others in FC matches, then I'd be open to having him open alongsides Tamim in Tests as well.

Yeah, lets not start comparing him with Tamim (or any other established opener at international stage for that matter) before first watching him in an overseas tour first.

he had some beautiful timing and cover drives today and looked quite compact at times. as said great to see him perform but let's not go over board, it is just one performance, he needs to keep doing it consistently to hold his spot.

on the plus side the 2nd opener spot competition is heating up, both anamul and shamsur are new to this level and anamul has already scored a ton and shamsur, well, he pretty much as good as scored a ton today.

I love the fact that he wanted to get his ton with a boundary. Nice!

Also mad at the crowd for not giving him an applause when he walked off. I understand they were in shock, but you need to applaud an innings like that.

yeah deserved an applause for sure, had the biggest contribution of the innings, he along with ziaur obviously inspired and motivated the rest the team into believing they could chase the 300+ target down.

Good innings. A few pre meditated shots too. The 100 was there for the taking so he should be kicking himself for it. Can clear the boundary and that is lovely to see. 6 sixes in first two ODIs of his career. A quick run maker might make it easy for TI too.

What I also loved seeing was, when he got out - the way Anamul reacted as if he has been dismissed for 96. Good team spirit!

he looked good, good to know BD has some talented openers, sure some work needs to be done but there is always work to be done (even if you're already one of the best) but it's good to know that the talent is there and performances are starting to come, the 2nd opener spot will hopefully be a strong spot for the team in the not to distant future.

Have to give credit to selectors for giving this guy a chance and not bringing back Junaid, Nafees etc for the umpteenth to eventually fail. Played really well today and took on the bowlers without thinking about securing his own position by playing safely. The fact that he took risks for the sake of the team despite this being only his second ODI and Anamul waiting in the wings shows his character. Wishing him continued success.

He played one very, very good inning and it was fun to watch. But there's no point making any more or less out of this. We'll see if he can keep it up.

He needs to kick on. I desperately want my homeboy to do well. Comilla/Chanpur/Noakhali/Lakshmipur/Feni totally underrepresented in the national team. Kopa Shamu's gonna change that, inshallah.

Shamsu looks technically much better than Anamul, he should get more chances coming days.
