Your ODI XI for the SL Series
I know that tour is still quite a long way away, but I wanted to know who people had in mind for their starting XI's as competition for places heats up. I'll go first.
1. Tamim
2. Shamsur
3. Naeem
4. Mushy
5. Shakib
6. Nasir
7. Mahmudullah
8. Gazi
9. Mashrafe
10. Razzak
11. Rubel
Naeem takes the #3 slot ahead of Mominul for now after his performance in this series.

If I had to pick an XI tomorrow and assuming everyone is fit:
1. Tamim
2. Kopa
3. Mominul (he can be our long term #3, need him to come good)
4. Mushfiq (needs to step up more often, I think he's still perfect at #4)
5. Naeem (must be in the XI)/Shakib
6. Shakib/Naeem
7. Nasir (#7 suits him best)
8. Shohag
9. Mashrafe
10. Razzak
11. Rubel
12. Riyad (love his water carrying skills)
13. Nazmul (very good first XI alternative, IMO)
14. Zia (could use his medium pace and mindless slogging very low down the order if it comes to it)
15. Shafiul
There's plenty of spin (left-arm and off spin) options there and surprisingly a few good pace options as well. I expect us to win 2-1, anything less than that will be unacceptable.

You're right. In that case, target revised to runner-up, because we couldn't beat Pakistan if our lives depended on it.
Btw, no Robiul in ODIs. Let him perform in a few more Tests first.

No they decided to postpone the Tri Series and play the Asia Cup instead. The 3 ODIs are coming from the postponement of the SL ODI series due to the Asia Cup in 2012.

Schedule hasn't been set yet but we'll likely see the Tests first.
By the way, this is a 2 Test, 3 ODIs, 2 T20I series. SL wanted an additional T20I due to upcoming T20I WC.
Can't find the sources. I think it was on cricinfo and dailystar

We need to start taking these T20s seriously. Mushfiq mentioned in the post match presentation that the T20 against NZ will be fun. Well, it's not meant to be funny, Mushfiq. It won't be funny when Hamid Hassan will hand your buttocks to you on a plate in front of a packed home crowd. So start practicing hard, take these international T20 matches as an opportunity to get better because you know you suck worse than the Netherlands in this format.

Yeah, this Mushfiq is capable of saying some very stupid things. Which is why I hope one day we will get a really good wicket keeper who can bat as well. Let Mush prove his worth in the team through his batting and captaincy only and see how long he lasts.

He's good enough to be in the team as batsman and keeper and will continue to be good enough for a long time.

I am really concerned with the T20's, we don't hardly have any players except maybe Tamim and Shakib who perform well less often, for some reason we struggle to pick boundaries and even singles. I think we should groom our future XI such as Shabbir, Anamul, Mominul mainly in T20's. Why we can't produce one hard-hitter (Clean Hitter) I don't know! I am blindly putting my trust on Shabbir Rahman. I know his not in the Squad! but he should have been, need BCB to arrange T20's in Bangladesh for the A Team.

I don't care who end up playing the final 11 as long these core group of players in the final team of 14. Someone will end up giving room for Sakib, tha'st ok. Because I have more faith in this head coach and team selectors. Now I know that whoever end up playing 1st ODI need to perform otherwise he will not last for the reaming of the ODIs.
Plus sh*ts happens.... I mean injury happens.... I will sleep without worry knowing that we have very capable players almost replacing anybody from #1 to #11. I love this team more than any other past team. There is no visible deadwood in the team.
So while you guys continue to argue who should and should not be in the team, I will sip my tetley tea and enjoy the fact that whoever plays, we will have a very good team in the field.

Razzak out, he's useless now. Mahmudullah, Momin, Nasir, and even Naeem can share the rest and Shak, Gazi, Mash, and Rubel can bowl 10 each (or not, if one of them are out of form.
And no, Naeem at #3 would be a total disaster IMO. Last thing you need is him bogging down after a wicket falls (which it would, quite often) and then pressure mounting further. Momin settled in nicely in that spot, regardless of the individual runs - he rotates the strike and gets things moving.

So excited!!!! Come on, tigers! Win it big, pretty please! So that I can taunt my lankan buddies bad
About the XI, it never has mattered whatever we selected, the management selects what's best (???!!!) in their minds!
