Former cricketers to play T20 in Canada
http://www.bdnews24.com/details.php?id=57554&cid=26
Dhaka, July 15 (bdnews24.com) – The former Bangladesh national cricketers are likely to play a twenty20 'festival match' against former Pakistani cricketers during the four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Canada, said Faruque Ahmed Tuesday.
The four-nation Twenty20 tournament involving Bangladesh, Pakistan, the West Indies and hosts Canada, organised by Pakistan-based event management organisation Sports International Marketing (SIM), is scheduled for August 14-17.
"The match may take place at a suitable time before or after the tournament and as far as I know the match will be called festival match," former national skipper Faruque Ahmed, who was given the responsibility to form a team, told bdnews24.com.
Ahmed said they were thinking of picking those cricketers, not considered for the national fold this time.
Athar Ali Khan, Aminul Islam Bulbul, Khaled Mashud Pilot, Mohammad Rafique, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Sharif would play for the Bangladesh side, said Ahmed, who served a four-year period as a chief selector.
He added that the Pakistani counterparts might include Wasim Akram and Waqar Younus.

So the 4-nations T20 tournament is not actually a T20I tournament? It's just circus cricket?

No, that is a T20I but the "Festival Match" is not a T20I.

It's good ya. Relation building between the old cricketers of two nation. Not bad. That's not disturbing the actual tournament at all. Should be fun.

Totally against picking players like Mohammad Sharif, Tushar Imran and Khaled Masud.
The first 2 is on their mid 20's. How can they play against retired bunch. This will
demoralise TI and M.sharif. It is a big insult to them.
Khaled Mashud havent retired either. So he shudnt be picked either.
We have players aged above 20 play for U-19 team
We have players aged below 19 play for national team
We have players aged mid 20's play for Retired bunch

Tushar Imran and Mohammad Sharif in that list!
So is Pilot? !!!
They should take Rokon and Opi instead.

Yes.
Opi should be there. He's more of a T20 player. He's a hard hitter.

Tushar said he would retire after he was dropped from both national team and A-team, may be that's why he is in the team with former cricketers.
