Default England Player Update

The other thread seems to of drifted off down the pages so I will start again.

[hr]

Pietersen - Made 125 off 111 balls for Hampshire, a knock that included 3 sixes, all off spinners. It was a fantastic knock the way he used his feet was awesome. Promising from an England point of view.

Flintoff - Made a quickfire 55 in a lost cause for Lancashire as they fell to a pathetic defeat (I am a Lancs fan), it was a good knock though with plenty of elegant off side strokes and drives.

He bowled for the first time since January in this match, he bowled 5-3-11-1.

Harmison - Was the man who got Flintoff out in that game, Harmison took 9 wickets in the match with 6 in the second innings. He is the only England player who has done consistently well for his county this season so far whilst there have been no internationals. He seems to be finding his range again, he got Australian Brad Hodge out in the 1st innings with an absolute brute of a ball, it rose from a good length to about chest height at around 96 mph.

Vaughan - Made a bright 53 for Yorkshire with plenty of trademark coverdrives before he got out to a skimmer that barely bounced for the second time in the match, in the first innings he was lbw for 9, the second innings bowled, on both occasions he couldn't get his bat down in time. Very unlucky dismissals. Was a promising display from the captain. Been given another week with his county in a search for further success.

Giles - Has a slight injury which he is trying to get rid off, should be just about ready for the 1st test.

Strauss - Haven't seen him bat this season but the impression I get is that he is playing well but getting himself out, got out hooking the other day. Been given another week with his county to try and make a substancial score.

Thats all this time.

I don't think he deserves a test cap as yet ... in his first innings he had only 1 and in the second innings he played like odi . Only one good knock so far . Ian Bell is still better than him at this stage so far .
