BCB appoint Gamini Silva as the chief curator

For people can't read Bangla -
Gamini Silva is an international umpire from Sri Lanka. He also has experience preparing pitches in Colombo. BCB wants to keep him for next two years, but he will be in probationary period for first 6 months and then BCB may extend his tenure if his performance is satisfactory.

old news eshen bhai ..j/k
jokes apart- i hope at least for upcoming tri series Gamini Silva won't make any changes for Mirpur wicket....a 220 wkt will do better than 400 wkt this time around (dilu and viru having their best form ever!!)

Yes Pasha Bhai. 220 means a realistic chance whereas 400 means lalala story for the dilu-viru guys.

So I am guessing you don't wanna see Ash scoring a double century?
Edit: Our players must learn to play in high scoring pitches if they want to have their proper rite of passage from boys to men.

India korse tai bole ki amader ke o korte hobe? We are not that good like India to score that much and chase it like Srilanka. We should make a pitch that suits our batting styles, that is a sporting wicket like we made for Srilanka, South AFrica and NZ.

Don't you guys think that because of this very reason that our pickets are slow and steady, our players don't get to score big? If the pitches become a bit more favourable for batting, our batsmen will be able to score well than before.

Yes. Thats why we want sporting wickets, not the typical slow wickets which favors the slow bolwers.

No we are not that good. That's the reality as Murad bhai said a good sporting wicket would do good for our cricket. Also I never like 400+ wicket, it kills the beauty of the game.

The Indian cricket team was in a euphoric mood after taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka last night. But mention the name Gamini Silva o the umpiring decisions against Sachin Tendulkar in this series and the team frown if not deliver a sharp word.
Lankan umpire Silva was responsible for Sachin Tendulkar's third poor decision in the series at the R Premadasa Stadium yesterday. Tendulkar has yet to reach double figures in the series.

He better not prepare 400+ pitches for ODIs. Our batsmen will still fold cheaply. I'd rather see a pitch where the chances for two teams to win are as close as possible. So it'll be bouncy wickets against India and Lanka, and slowish wickets (still with a bit of bounce) against the Kiwis. Don't forget Vettori and the part-time spinners the kiwis have aren't too bad as well.
Best of luck to Gamini and I hope he gives us some great pitches.

It will take Ash at least 5 matches to score a double century unless his maturity level suddenly goes up.

loz. the next time Ash scores big again is far away. He already scored a century and a couple of 50s this year. Thats enough to keep him on the team for another 5-7 years.
