BIG MISTAKE BY PROTHOM ALO

Such a reputed Bengali daily like Prothom Alo has made a HUGE MISTAKE. They have reported in today's (18/10/2002) newspaper on sports section that Talha Jubair is going to have his debut in test matches.

What is more that a picture of Talha Jubair has also been printed in that report.

I am sure that everybody on this board knows that Talha Jubair has already played 2 test matches against SL.

I called at Prothom Alo to give a bash at them and they said that their sports editor will come at the office in the evening and told me to call in the evening.

In the meantime, I have talked with another sports journalist, who said that he was not involved in writing that report. And he also told me to call in the afternoon.

I don't understand how come such a good Bengali daily such as Prothom Alo could print something like this without noticing.

The same report has said that BTV will not provide live coverage of the test matches because they don't have any sponsors to cover the matches.

I say, that because of such acts of the sports reporter and people like him/them, that BTV do not get any sponsor to cover test matches of Bangladesh.

This is hilarious... whats happening?!?!?! everything related to our cricket seems to be going wrong at the same time...even the journalists are not immune to it

I called up at the Prothom alo and talked with the sports editor and he has apologised.

He said that he will print about this mistake in tomorrow's paper.
