"Things" Pybus shouldn't bypass...
> First thing first, know the local people and culture
> Make friendship with Tamim, you will get the rewards
> Don't believe everything what BCB & Co. tell you, rather get the experience inhand
> Know the emerging talents, i.e., the likes of Anamul, Mominul, Asif, Shuvagoto and Shabbir
> Select squad based on format, for example, Ash for T20. If you select Shahadat for T20, I won't blame you if you plan to live on the moon(!)
> Don't eat fuchka on the street of Dhaka yet, first get used to ...
Now, it's your turn to add...

"Things" Pybus should know...
1. BD cricket team dressing room culture
2. Understand the boys are lazy in general, and needs to be told what to do as oppose to most of the other players he may have worked with in the past. (Very important)
3. Quickly learn how to deal with BCB officials. Most of them will try to insert their own agenda.
4. Learn what ticks each player.
5. Establish a "go to" person in BCB every time he needs something.
6. I remember a great man once told me "coaching is done during off season, not while you are playing". Hope he can create a great relationship with boys and work hard on their mental and technical aspects when we are not playing internationals.

As much as Pybuss needs to know “what not to” bypass he needs to know “what to” as well.
For example;
- Unnecessary flattery by players, BCB honchos and officials.
- Taboo that exist in BD cricket culture such as pace bowlers are of no good in our pitch.
- Any links that exist between players and BCB officials/ selectors.
- Flash in the pan inning or bowling spell.
- Minnow bashers or flat surface bullies.

First thing he should do is talk to Law, Siddons and to an extent Mushfiqur, they did some good work with Bangladesh and he should be building on what they have done, not starting from scratch.

If he can last at least one year with us, then hey He will have earned my respect, until then I am still not 100% satisfied as a fan.
I am not questioning his methodology or credentials but rather I am interested to see how his Relationship with the players, fans, BCB and the media plays out!

I remember before Kirsten was hired by India, He actually did an in depth analysis on the team and it's strategies and presented those to the BCCI panel. I remember reading everyone in the Indian setup being very impressed with the level of preparation/knowledge Kirsten had even before taking on the job.
Even though BD doesn't have the same standing in world cricket I would still expect Pybus to do some research on our international performance, key players etc before taking the job.
Bottom line: He shouldn't bypass the homework he is supposed to do and start from zero again.

The good thing about Pybuss is he is a specialist coach, not a past superstar. He knows he isn't god's gift to cricket so he's going to do all that extra work. I don't know much about him but going by his previous jobs it seems he gets the most out of any team. Remember that the best players rarely make the best coaches. Look at Alex Ferguson, never got a cap for Scotland but has managed Man U to the Premiership 12 times.

Hmmm....good thread Obayed bhai
Besides knowing, he should also try to establish few rules as well like:
--->not letting any BCB officials enter the player's dressing room prior permission to him
--->generating team harmony among all players...no seniority or juniority....it's a team!
Can only think of these 2....will post more later...

and
4- lungi fashion

first thing first :
1.Bypass shouldn't open a BC account
2. For his conjugal life's sake he should keep distance from Loot-us uncle
3. For his career's sake he shouldn't try to change anything in Ashraful, and treat him well.

Bangladeshi players, people are not lazy. They are timid, shy, and mostly are always aware of what others think about them and thus hesitant to do something on their own. THEY ARE NOT LAZY. Like all teams, some would need extra motivation and some would be self motivated. No difference. Professional athletes can not be lazy. They are always on the edge.

very important point, as tamim is a big factor for our cricket. He is our most aggressive experienced batsman who can score runs quickly with playing any proper shot. Whenever he scores big we have a chance to win...But he is another emotional guy who needs to handle carefully. Pybus has to look into this carefully..
