Still a good world cup!

Won't be surprised if Bangladesh returns home this time w/o any win at all.

If these guys are bunch of sissies with low self-esteems and no pride then what the hell are they doing over there, other than wasting tax payers' money? Ghore giya churi pore thakle e pare. Meyera o er cheye bhalo khele. Nothing has changed. Everyone was so hyped up after a fluke Zimbabwe series.

My only expectation from the team at this point is bhai Scotland ar Afghanistan er kachey harish na. The sad part is, even if that were to happen, nothing will happen to Papon and co - who sent the most under-prepared squad to the WC of all the participating countries

I hope the fans, the media, the coaches the friends and families and everyone just bash their heads into sense. These Bangladeshis are a disgrace.

The above is what many people here were saying only 1 month and 5 days ago. I wont name names as I'm too kind, but I;m sure you have an idea as to who said what
Since then Bangladesh comfortably beat the Associates, beat England and gave NZ a serious game.
I understand losing is disappointing, but all things considered this was an excellent world cup for Bangladesh and a QF spot was realistically all that you could have expected. So job well done I guess, now to build on this performance

I agree it was still a good WC considering we beat the 2 associates and England to seal a place in the quarter final, anything that happened after would have been merely a bonus. I am proud of the boys regardless of todays performance!

Achieved our primary goal by playing in QF in an alien condition with almost no experience. It's been indeed a pretty good tournament for us If not excellent. Well done tigers

We did better than expectations.
We beat England. Gave NZ a run and thrashed big mouth Afghanistan. Also chased 320 with ease.

None of those quotes were by me!
Same for Ireland Donal...unlucky to miss out due to NRR. Same happened to us in 2011. WI being the lucky beneficiary both times. 2019 their luck may run out.
Lets get at least 12 teams into the next WC.
Donal, with Taylor gone and Williams and Ervine possibilities to leave, good shot at you guys beating ZIM in the Test challenge in 2018 and getting Test status. Hope BCB arranges home/away series with Ireland and ZIM every year!
Hope we get some ODI series between BD/IRE also. ZIM and IRE will probably be hooking up this year.

Alhamdulillah, Bangladesh have played good cricket in this WC, and I have no complain about the team. You may be able to beat a country, but you cant beat a COUNCIL.
Thanks Donal C, for your kind words.

Yes No Doubt, this was an excellent WC for Bangladesh. But a win Against NZ was a bad miss and not challenging India adequately, raises some questions about the actual improvement & development of othe team. Otherwise I think most people are happy.

I think i have awakened, but really, others aren't. The fans are sincere, but it's like dreaming for desert to become green and grow fruits aplenty after abundant rain, which will never happen! Same story with Bangladesh, we were supposed to turn a corner in 2007. But we might've even regressed. People saying we beat england, well, to be frank, cricket analysts and experts were all talking about how pathetic england has been. We are still the team that relies heavily on the opposition team to go thru poor form. We haven't improved to the level where we can win based on our merit, and beating a good enuf team, like what the asian teams did in their previous world cup campaigns when they were relative minnows. Bottomline, Bangladesh really is a perennial minnow. That doesn't take my love away from bangladesh, but it's better to align yourself with reality rather than dreaming. BD winning a world cup is never gonna happen. For our satisfaction, maybe we can do it with Bangladesh in EA sports only, but that's about it.
