Default speaker settings

OK, so heres the problem:

My laptop's speakers seem to be playing up a bit - it makes everything sound a little bit like an echo. I've tried so many things including googling for the solution and changing the speaker settings.

Can anyone tell me if its possible to revert your speaker settings to the default Windows setting, ie the factory settings. Please - this is really starting to annoy me...
