Default No captain?

Ajker Kagoj reports, there is no current captain in the BD team. According to them, Sujon was selected for the TCS and SA serise. So now, officially there is no captain. They talKed to a BCB advisor on this, and his response was, the selectors can't announce the captain. It comes from BCB. They will select the new captain in the next BCB meeting.

Ajker Kagoj is a great news paper as far as the reports are concerned. They report stuff that other papers miss. However, it updates very irregularly.

Anyways, lets hope this is a good news and BCB will select a regular test player as captain rather than Sujon who shouldnt even be in the test team.

A Captain will be selected when the team is selected for Australia. I hope Whatmore points it out to the other selectors that Sujon should not even travel to Australia, let alone be captain. I hope Sumon gets the captaincy instead.

I personally think that Sujon should remain in the ODI team as both a member & captain. At least as a member.

That ofcourse is a dilemma for a form-wise tempermental team such as BD. The test team will have to bank on one less player from the available touring pool. Meaning that, they will have effectively only 3 reserves (Pool Size = 14).

In case of Bangladesh, there are always players like those who are better players in tests and those who are better players in One Dayers.

And Sujon is not the only player who is fit (and I don't mean physically or mentally) to play only the one form of the game.

Tushar Imran is also one such player.

There have always been discussions about Javed's slow batting, which shoul at least be temporarily disregarded since there is no other suitable opener for Bangladesh to play in the one dayers.

Talha Jubair, and in the last Test series, Mashrafee Bin Murtoza were said to be Test match bowlers, i.e., only to be utilized in tests.

There are many examples such as these.

But, they can all change their games and turn out to be the best players in both forms of the game.
