BDFlag BC Members Attending T20 Worldcup in St. Lucia & Barbados

I'm opening this thread to find out all the BC members that will attend
T20 World cup games in St. Lucia and Barbados. There will be 8 of us
from the Chicago area going there (2 of us are BC members). It would
be nice to meet with other BC members over there.

I know we're not doing that great in T20. But, I've a wining record for
for all the Bangladesh games that I physically attended. In 1999 several
of us went to Bangladesh vs. Pakistan world cup game and we own. Also,
in December 2004 I was in Bangladesh and went to see the ODI against
India. In both cases Bangladesh own. I hope my winning streak will continue
in West Indies.

Please post in this thread if you're going to be in St. Lucia and Barbados.
Perhaps, we can get together... The other BC member going with us is
FaridpurChicago.

I'll be taking my digital camera. So, there will be pictures to share.

What if you guys arrive there and your team does not make it in time because of the volcano in Iceland, all indications is that it will not abate for the next 5 days, so air travel in Europe and in and out of London will be grounded.

If BD can't make it so can't all the other SA nations - in that case the WC will be delayed. In any case I expect that the teams will be able to bypass Europe if necessary

In that case, BD should field a backup team consisting of BC members.

It will take a much longer time to get to the WI if they bypass Europe, but hopefully, by Friday the volcano might settle down, the geologists think that that it will stop spewing ashes into the atmosphere by Wednesday, but with the rotation of the earth, the ashes will be swirling around for days afterwards. This has been a major eruption, and it was not expected to last this long.

Dhaka-Dubai-US-WI is an alternative route.
or
Dhaka-Dubai-Canada-WI.

The ICC says that if all teams can get to Dubai at a certain date, they will charter an Emirates plane directly to the WI, so that is good news.I am sure that they are in communication with BCB.

Enjoy your time, hope you get to chill with the players. Also, I've got a feeling that you'll rue your luck for not buying the tickets for the second round.

Are you really dreaming that BD will proceed to the second round?
Their PCL& NCL was pathetic and there they were playing against their own, here they are playing against the big boys. If pakistan does not wreck them, Australia will devastate them with their killer team, batsmen as well as bowlers.

All we've got are dreams and if you're going to dream, DREAM BIG. I on the other hand limited my "dream" to the second round.

so the observers role is to OBSERVE the off-field and non-cricketing affairs in the tour

I don't enough confidence in these clowns to spend 20 bucks and buy a package so I can watch the game peacefully. I don't know how you do it. More power to you all.
