Default Abdur Razzak is back!

Back with a bang!!

This guy on his day always lethal, hard to play against. He has variety speed and like I said on his day he can be very accurate and deadly.

At test ge never did anything of note but then again most of the test he played were on highway tracks. Give him a bit of spinning track his accuracy and darting them at the pads is difficult to face.

I’ve always liked him. Yes prior to he got the chop in 2014, he was bowling too many loose stuffs and deserved to get to dropped but comeon we will know Razzak has been one of BD’s best spinners in LOI. He played crucial roles in many many wins for BD.

I’d prefer him over Sunzas, Mosharaffs, Shuvgatas, Nasirs! In LOI. Plus he can hit big shots. I’d like him back for ODIS.

I am not excited. The pitch helped Razzak big time as you can see Taijul also got 4 wickets today. He will be very expensive where the condition won't help and glimpses of that ability was on display too.

Happy for him. I still think he should take this opportunity to say Goodbye to international cricket with his dignity.

He was integral part of our national team for quite some time. At 36, he came back and got 4 wickets. That's praiseworthy no matter how much the pitch helped.

The top 4 Bangladeshi spinners for me:

Shakib, Rafiq, Razzak & Salahuddin

Experience matters in Test. I am glad that he was able to deliver. Hope to see more exciting performance from him. The pitch probably helped but it was his come back game. So great performance no doubt

His bowling has defintely improved. He has cut down the short deliveries with better lenghts on his arm deliveries...
At 36, he is kinda late to the party. Maybe has a handful games left in him. But he should still be selected as long as he keeps on delivering.

Him performing would be a huge wake up call for the selectors and may change our selection criteria. Guys like Tushar Imran, Nafees can become relevant again

On principle, no problem bringing back older player, but it need to be backed up with recent domestic performance like any other players.

Also once they are back, there should be no guaranteed Senior citizen discount. Like any other young players, they need to produce game in - game out...otherwise they should dropped again.

Just keep in mind, one bad innings, they dropped Mossadek ( and Sanjamul). They have set the standard that high. They should follow it for rest of the players... new or old...copper or gold.... same rule should follow all.

I'm happy for Razzaq, eventhough I was not interested in his inclusion.
He looks same, has not changed much, bowled well, but can he bat us out of trouble tomorrow?

No surprise there, he is prolly close to 40 in his real age (notice the amount of grey beards he has). But then again, Herath is still playing and playing well.

And Herath is a good fielder. U saw him chasing balls to the boundary in the first test?

He was even sliding and diving.

IMO, that's the biggest concern to bring any senior such as Nafees, Tushar, or Alok back - they suck as fielders.

Among the oldies, only Naeem Islam still looks quite fit, though he has been out of the national team for so long.

Razzaq was never a good fielder. At this age, dont think that will improve much. His focus should be on improving his performance and stay fit.

I am really curious to see how he bowls in the 2nd innings. Will his body handle the pressure of Test?

He prolly would have much better career stats if our management had guts to make turning tracks back in the time he played. Sad to hear he does not get this sort of wickets even in domestics. How BCB expect our batsmen to get better against spin then?!

Haven’t seen the match but if what I’m hearing is right his accuracy is pretty good now? Accuracy is something he lost before he was discarded so if he’s worked on it and got it back then good on the bloke.

Changed his action slightly. Bowls a lot slower, straighter.

Didn't support his inclusion. But happy he did well on his return.

Time to retire with your head held high.

Like it or not, Razzak is a hero. During the old days, he was one of our main weapons again ZIM and other lower ranked teams.

Selection in test teams should be based on a simple principle- you perform in national league and you get a place - otherwise what's the point? Yes, there can be few inclusions based on talent, but overall, league performance should be the main criteria - even if its a picnic league. Hate shenanigans of selectors where Shabbir is selected but performers like Mossaddek and Tushar Imran are not given chances enough.

I always call razzak the unsung hero of BD cricket. In our early big wins vs big teams he was one of the main contributors. in the wins vs IND and SA in 2007 WC, it was his tight bowling and crucial wickets that was one of the major contributors. This was recognized by rahul dravid when he selected Razzak for RCB. He was the first guy from BD to get a team in IPL

he was at his best from 2006 to 2010.
