Why the selectors ignoring Young players ? May be because these 3 were thrown out of the national team to give places to the young players. Experience my foot. Look how Nazimuddin is playing . They are also taking some kinds of revenge to Dhiman who is playing magnificently for last 3 years

Selectors,

Please bring one of these players in 2nd TEST. Please !!!! Please !!!!

This recycling business must stop. Its not that we are trying to safe the world by recycling.

We need fresh few more fresh new blood one after another... and the process should start now....the team collapse completely.

which one should they pick? i reckon mominul has the best technique but he's got less consistency than asif and anamul.

where have you seen mominul's technique? granted technique should be the deciding factor between two players of similar calibre (ie run making ability) but the primary factor for selection ought to be run scoring, be it measured by average or by consistency.

there have been a few video's posted showing him in matches so you can get a good look at his technique.

i agree run scoring should be a major factor when selecting someone but BD players don't have the best technique or footwork and can get completely found out at the international level even if they're a run scoring machine domestically. dickens for example. we will see how nazimuddin does this time round but last time he was in the national team he got eaten alive because of poor footwork and technique and he's possibly the most consistent batsman in FC cricket.

average is good to look at but as you know you have to look deeper than than, inflated averages and so on.

anyway maybe asif is the best choice atm....

I don't think technique can be properly judged unless a player is watched over a period of time that can't be covered in a video. in fact, ultimatlely, you need to observe them on all sorts of pitches against all sorts of [top] quality bowling.

that said, mominul is probably next in line after asif/anamul.an away 150 against a A team is certainly noteworthy.

anyone read this article of prothom alo today. Thats what we do. Pick up so called young and talented players, let them play 2-3 matches and throw them out. Whats the point of monotoring these players, same circle is going on for the last 12 years of BD cricket.

fair point, but you can still get an idea of their technique and mominul looked better than most. footwork is also very important though, good technique and poor footwork well really you need both.

Alamin picked up 4 for 12 so far in the second innings with 3/35 in the first innings against Rajshahi. He is certainly drawing selectors attention

We should let these guys play 2-3 more seasons of domestic cricket, BPL, A team matches before we promote them to the national side. They are just not ready.

For example: If you include Anamul, he ll maybe do well in a match or two. Then he ll probably have a couple of low scores and then suffer from low confidence. Before you know it he will be another Rakibul Hasan or Alok Kapali

Or, may be he can become another 'Nasir Hossain' ?

I know what you meant, i had the same feeling when Nasir was brought in. But i feel that Anamul belongs to same breed of Nasir, Shakib (i aint comparing Anamul with Shakib). While other national team batsmen failed in BPL, Anamul played couple of sensible and matured innings and that too in T20 game where any youngsters throw his bat in the air. Most importantly, he has got heart and power. Only thing is missing 'match experience' and he only can get it by playing. I think he's not too far away from being included in the national team. Only problem with him is that he's a keeper too. While Mushy is there, it would be hard for him to come into the team unless #2, #3, #4 batters (zunaed, kayes, ash et. al) fail miserably in Asia Cup. Or, may be we can see him in Asia Cup, who knows

If he is included, he should be there as an understudy.
This kid is certainly very talented and we all have high hopes for him.
Lets not rush in.

I wanted to add my thoughts about Anamul.

He is ready for international cricket in my opinion and should be allowed to play without any fear and flourish. With some continued work, he will undoubtedly be the national wicketkeeper at some stage and even if he doesn't keep wicket he is a huge asset in the field anyway as he is fast and has a great throwing arm.

He plays some great shots. Well executed. It's clear Anamul is more than a good prospect.

I spoke at length with him and said three things from me to him personally:

1. Don't be like the majority of players who get to the national team and think they have made it. Stay hungry for success.

2. Keep working hard at your skills and train hard. Don't look at some players who do as little as possible and think this is the way forward. Be your own man.

3. Don't chase money. Let money chase you. Play for the sheer thrill and love for the game and be humble. Never take the game for granted. People will look up to you and respect you if you do your very best.

If Anamul does these things I feel Bangladesh has a future star in their midst. He is young and it will take time. I just hope he gets the chances and people back him all the way. He was the best thing I saw in the BPL as a new talent. Now the development begins and those around him (friends, family and coaches) have a vital role in shaping his environment. Ultimately, it is all down to Anamul himself and from what I have seen and discussed with him, he definitely has it all.

Wow, Ian. High praise coming from you. However, I did notice him trying to make quite a few cutesy shots ala Ashraful. I guess that's the impetuousness of youth. How does one temper that and should we try to? How do we not burn him out?

Thanks for our imput Ian! You are the man there so you will know whats best for the Bangladeshi team and whats not. In your opinion where should Anamul bat in the batting lineup for Bangladesh?

I say the cutesy shots are fine as long as they are reserved for T20s. And thanks for sharing your views with us Ian. I must say Ian and the DG management deserve a lot of credit for consistently backing Anamul and sending him to bat in the top order. Must have done his confidence a lot of good. We all saw what Barishal did to Mominul after he played the match-winning knock against Khulna. He was demoted to number 8 and even Kabir Ali was sent to bat ahead of him.

Ps. I still maintain Mominul > Anamul
