Using Farhad as a third seamer in short spells, 4-3-3 for example, will definitely improve our bowling attack during the upcoming Pakistan tour Inshallah.

that is very rare and will happen only once in every 20/30 matches! can we afford to spare someone like that?

Is it. Seems to me how to make a simple catch difficult. He horrifically misjudge the flight of the ball but fortunately keep eye on the ball and take necessary steps to correct his sorrow. Look wonderful in TV camera due to that.

You're right. But perhaps it is the adjustment or the way Abir compensated for that misjudgement, is what makes that catch so good ...

It's good to see Farhad bag a pfeiffer, but from what I gather from the cricinfo commentary, he seemed pretty wayward. In fact one of his wickets was off a full toss that should have been dispatched. I'm not too sure he would have got away with what he has had this been stronger opposition. Can anyone who has watched the game shed some light on this please?
Don't get me wrong here - I've always backed Farhad to make it to the team ahead of many others. I like the way he goes about his game, and I think he could be a great first change bowling/lower order hitting option, but just not quite opening material in the long term.

Bro...please, to save yourself, don't question him and his comments. He's always right. He can never be wrong...at least, to himself

Cricket 101: Reza too short to be an attacking opening bowler
Mashrafee and Sahadat are our best choice against quality team
Against minnows, we can always bring back Reza and Rusel

He deserves a permanent place in the ODI line-up as an all-rounder.

Who me? Couldn't be.
Yes he deserves a permanent place in the ODI line-up as an all-rounder. We have very few allrounder in our ODI team, thats not good.

Agree but rasel can be use against big teams too. He is a tested player

Bhai, just out of curiosity...since how many more times will you try and push that ball up the slope? I know failure is the piller of success...but too many pillers isn't good either

I didn't watched the game. However it doesn't make sense by looking at that stat. If Irish players were careful against Mashree, then how come mashree gave so many run. On stat he was the msot expensive bowler.

Didn't notice your post earlier.
Afridi can smack anyone, even Shane Bond, the best in the business. Having said that, I wouldn't play Farhad as the second seamer in the Pakistan tour. he deserves a spot as the all-rounder/3rd seamer.

That was kind of a comparasion I was making in my head too, but Reza has a long way to go, both batting and bowling wise.
Great performance from Reza today with the ball.
I really hope he's in the starting X1 in the Pakistan tour, but as the third seamer like many of you have mentionned.
Just imagine a bowling lineup of: Mash, Rasel, Reza, Rajjak and Shakib. For ODI's, that lineup seems really good to me and almost all those bowlers bowl tight line and lengths to restrict runs and opposing batsmen get out trying to make quick runs.

He still could. How tall is he now, 5 ft 6? He's 21 and men can grow till their 25. Let's hope 1 inch per year for the next three years, he'll be a smooth 5 ft 9 by then

out of the subcontinet yo will require 3 seamers.
and certainly farhad is avery good option as the 3rd semaer.
and against minnows we can certainly drop i seamers play farhad as 2nd seamer and a spinning allrounder to strenthen the batting.

Then (after 25) they start shrinking 1inch per year. By age 30, he will be down to 5' 4". But by then he will be a genuine batsman like Tendu, so it will be ok. If not, Tehndu then the 2nd option will be: he will be a spinner.

Too many pillers mean that the budget is over constructing the pillers. No money left for constructing the remain of the bridge. I am afraid this won't be our case in cricket.
