Default Tamim's comments in the Daily Star

Tamim made some excellent comments in the Daily Star:

"No way can we be satisfied but I'm sure we will play much better cricket after these two games. In one game our batting clicked while in the other game it was our bowling which clicked but we must ensure that all the departments click simultaneously if we want to win the match against the big team. We must ensure that we will not make small mistakes in our batting like in the Ireland game. Definitely we enjoyed the victory but we will not cling to it when we resume our practice after two days' break," he added.

I believe this sentiment is the right way of looking at things and sums up the status quo accurately. We needed to win against Ireland.....regardless of the nature of the victory. But now the real work begins in trying to qualify for the QF. These first two games can in some way be looked on as additional "practice matches" in preparation for the most important series of matches in the group stage. Tamim also had some interesting comments about Shakib:

"I think so far he was his best as a captain in the match. Shakib has a self-belief which played the vital role to bring success. He takes the decision he thinks is right which is I think important for any captain. We won the match because we believed we could win and we also believe that we can show a much better performance," said a confident Tamim.

The last sentence possibly alludes to watching the breathtaking, tear-inducing, all-inspiring "NEVER STOP BELIEVING" video by our new world-famous sidratt bhai. I wonder if that video possibly injected the extra belief that Tamim was talking about!!! We'll never know, but its possible!

Joy Bangla! Time for nets boys! Agami char din-er jonno ami khub valo net session practice dekhte chai!!!

Was he asked about the MoM? He must have felt Shafiul deserved it.

He and Shakib were only supposed to attend the post-match press briefing, but they took Shafiul with them cuz they felt he should have been the MOM.

Its not so much that the bowling clicked with Ireland as much as Ireland are not India.
