Who should replace Shakib in 1st 2 ODIs?
Who should replace Shak? A spinner, a batsman or an allrounder?

I would go for a genuine spinner. We are too full with batsmen and part time all rounders. We need another genuine spinner along side with Sohag and Razzaq !
I say, Arafat Sunny or Saqline Sajib !

Mind you, Sohag Gazi is mediocre with the bat. So, going with 3 specialist bowlers in the form of spinners may easily backfire.

We don't need any genuine spinner in ODIs, we needed it for the test side. Bits and pieces all rounders like Naeem, Naseer, Mullah are enough along with 2 pacers and Gazi. I can't see batting in ODI...need a solid batsman in place of Shakb..or may be a batting all rounder....
I'll be happy to see Naeem out of ODI team... Let Alok, Junaid, Mominul... Any two come in... Zia is a must in the ODI side...

I want Zia. The rest can move up the batting order by a place and we can have Zia for onslaught later in the innings.

That's why you should never prepare such lifeless Cricket pitches because these things (injuries) will happen. ODIs were our best chance of winning now I pretty much doubt it.

shuvagata bowls a bit of spin doesn't he? possibly him if you want someone who can bat but spin a bit as well. otherwise a genuine spinner or mominul.

I prefer Zia. Zia should be in the first squad. I don't know why selectors didn't take him. But now he is must.

Naeem was a mistake!, if the pitch is still flat then go with 3 seamers like Asia Cup - Mashrafe, Rubel and yes Abul (let's just see) or if the pitch is going to offer turn then 2 seamers and 3 specialist spinners no part-timers like Naeem. My 3 spinners will be Razzak, Sunny and Gazi so it depends what the pitch is like. This also means that Tamim needs to seriously perform which I pretty much doubt.

Does it matter at all?
As long as we have the selectors in charge who believe in the same team for test, ODI and T20, I don't see any meaning in wasting my words.

Zia is not for ODI. Those miss-and-hit-wicket shots are only for t20 batting at 7/8. We need to prep him for ODI. I don't think he's ready for ODI jelly.

Yes that would be my pick. Akram Khan can open with his nephew. He can also open bowling. Since he will be the captain by default, he can lead from the front. Since he is the chief selector he can select the team on the fly and determine batting and bowling order and rotation. Since he is a genius he can come up with gameplans, strategy etc. His presence will inspire the team and everyone will be scared to death to perform otherwise they will lose their spot in the team. He can also coach the team as we need a head coach to begin with. Overall since Akram Khan is an alrounder like Imran Khan he is the ideal candidate to replace Shakib Al Hasan.

Whatever I have seen, I really liked Zia.
If he is given few chances (not one chance and gone) in ODI and let him grow, I think he will surprise lot of his doubters.
I think he can play a very good role in our team where our playrs tend bat inTEST mode in ODI game. Yes he has technical weakness, but who doesn't? I see him another Nasir in that aspect, given some chances he will grow and will eventually become an overall consistent performer with "match winner" potential.
