This is only the first day. SA has a lineup who can turnaround just like that. However, the match is in SL. So by the time they turnaround it will be ODI triseries. I love it cause India will be on the receiving end. Way to go SL. Villiers should shut his mouth and concentrate more on the game. Funny how he lost his wicket to the man he bashed before the match.

Kumar and Mahela are two of my favourite batsmen. these two are a pleasure to watch when they are in song together. i think they deserve a lot more fuss than they usually get.

yeah..agree witchu man..they failing to get a break-thru Sanga and Jayawadene are taking the game away from S.A...its in Games like these that you really miss Kallis and Pollock who would have added a few runs and also may have been useful with the ball aswell....there is still the second innings but the Muri factor will always haunt then cuz they will try to be a bit more cautious and spend a bit more time on the field...the longer they stay on the field, the older the ball gets and the more dangerous Muri becomes..

Sri Lanka 320/2 (81.0 ov) at Tea Day 2 (Sri Lanka lead by 151 runs with 8 wickets remaining )
How neck to neck Kumara and Mahela are going on ! Kumara - 147* and Mahela 145*
Interesting!! SA is going to die.

Kumara & mahela broke 3rd wicket partnership which was previously held by Johns & crow against Sri Lanka. This is also the second highest partnership for any wicket in test cricket.
3rd 467 AH Jones & MD Crowe New Zealand v Sri Lanka Wellington 1990/91

I hate to face these two in the champions trophy qualifing. I'd rather take my chances and beat WI and have Lara retired and we move on to the real games.
For this game, SL should retire these two batsmen and let Dilshan Maharoof take charge tomorrow.

Jayawardane and Sangarkara two of the most prolific and gifted batsmen lanka produced after their world cup truimph. They are improving day by day and taking lanka to that glorious status again.
Sometimes, I wish we had batsmen like these two.

Any one would do. No need of two at the moment.

what happened to south africa. 1st they were all out at 169 then that epic partnership by kumara & mahela. i feel sorry for kumara not getting his tripple hundred. if he got tripple then it might have been more interesting 2 batsmen going for a record in a single match

Ohhh well he didnt get the record but atleast he's finally achieving his true potential. This guy has the talent to be 1 of the best in the world and I mean in the same bracket as Lara and Tendulkar so I guess this great innings from Mahela may be the start of greater things to come from him!
