A loyal Tigers fan responds to BCB’ s cricket operations committee chairman Naimur Rahman after his public rant against coach Hathurasingha’ s comments about team selection. In this open letter to the MP and a past captain of the national team, the author urges the BCB to not repeat the past mistakes that led to the departure of successful coaches like Whatmore, Siddons, and McInnes.

Sadly the West Indian cricketers seem more perked up with their IPL teams than their national colors. This is one of the dark sides of IPL. It can mess priority of players.

In Sri Lanka, Malinga has often been criticized by fans for doing more for Mumbai Indians than the Sri Lankan cricket team. Last night he bowled at 147 kph in Kolkata, whereas he was struggling to cross 140 in the pacey pitches of Australia.

Money became more powerful than national pride these days.

Nicely written!

Based on the level of intellect this guy seems to have, if someone gave him a copy of the letter, my guess is he'd only read "Dear Naimur Rahman Durjoy" and brag about how much respect people give him.

Lol, i ve met him once in person when he was a player. Very nice soft spoken guy. And was quite an intelligent cricketer at that time. Went to get an autograph for him. He actually bothered to ask me to spell my name, then wrote sth nice and meaningful. Spoke good English as well. Right before that i went to Akram Khan who looked with an irritated face, grunted and scribbled "Good A.K."

Dont know what happens to these guys after they become politicians. I could expect this from Akram Khan or Khaled Mahmud, but not from Naimur.

Dude a smiling face does not tell the whole story type of thing. He can behave like the most humble guy ever but inside its not the case. He thinks he is arjuna ranatunga. As a player, he was rubbish. He could bowl some offies and hold a bat and so was boycott's grandmother.

By the way - Jeesh's open letter was also published as an Op-Ed piece in the Tribune. Congrats!
