My Resolution:

- Excercize regularly ( 3 days a week)
- Increase my monthly saving rate by reducing some expenses (increasing by 20%)
- Will stay away from useless political discussion (not more than 1 per month in deshi dawats)
- Will have more outdoor activies in the weekend ( atleast 2 outdoor activities for every month)
- Sleep early and sleep enough (average 6.5 hours, preferably 7 hours)
- Clean the house, get rid of stuff that I will never use.

this is a very good goal. i want to say this to all of you young working kids, please max out your 401k...which is currently 17k annually in us. and try to survive on the rest of the money, ideally taht is ur income.......

10 years ago a close relative of mine didnt eeven opt in for 401k with company matching, i asked him if he was crazy or not...he enrolled the follwing year.. i bet you he owes me many thanks....

many ppl will argue that they can take the money out and invest better and make faster money without any restrictins.... thats great but majority of ppl lack that discipline to succeed and they need this forceful and restrictive savings fund...

and these funds are protected from anything.... collection, bankruptcy, u name it but normal savings arent.

I know bro. I have been doing this and sometimes cause frustration specially when you put extra efforts and end up with failure. When I was working on my Formal Methods paper while in Saint Paul I hardly had a weekend to spare in leisure. When the paper was not published as it received a weak acceptance I was so disheartened. We planned to rework it but never I could spend time on it as every time I will try I will be fuming on the unpaid off hard work.

Anyway, I also had 2 more year gaps in the journey that I did not mention earlier.

iDumb, you are quite right about the 401K. I still regret for missing my first 2 years for not taking that initiative. Well I would have lost a lot more in my divorce but still it was a mistake.

Bottom line "moderation" whatever you eat....
I would suggest these -

1. Replace white rice with brown rice. Brown rice comes in small packets and can be cooked in microwave. The good part is you are curbing carbs almost to half saving utility spent for rice cooker, the demerit your expense may go little higher for the staple.

2. Do not eat egg, instead eat the packed bitten egg without the yellow stuff.

Speaking from a great deal of personal experience, it is not all in the mind at all, bro. While experiencing fleeting or comparatively sustained happiness or unhappiness is a part of life, happiness or depression as a more permanent state of being is more complex. Acute, clinical depression has strong neurological and biochemical components that require precise holistic intervention from professionals. The mind is obviously capable of impacting that delicate physiological balance either way, but it needs help.

Carefully administered medical marijuana worked for me, but the medication was made more effective because of a headlong and loving immersion into a world of truth and beauty. Social work, meditation, exercise, lovemaking, books, music, cinema and creativity can eventually make you less dependent on medication.

2012 was a very hectic year for me. I was way too busy to be really there for my family when they needed me. So my 2013 resolution is to moderate my workload so that I can take care of my family.

Because, all physical exercise programs are made for tomorrow....and it never comes... Make a plan for today, it will work...NOW is the best- Means decide and start immediately. ....

Works better if planned with GFs/BFs... Or Planned on places which gives a chance to meet prospective GFs/BFs... Or other attractions along with exercise... Like Golf works for beautiful place, Environment and if you drink, all in the same place... So plan exercise which connects you with your passion... May simply be playing a game that you are passionate about than planning to go gym or jogging... Plan evening times if you are a late sleeper, morning if you are an early riser... ... Swimming is very good exercise and pool is a good place to be too........

If there is will, there is a way...

(Easy to say than ....)

In 2012 I kept most of my resolutions.
For 2013 my main goals are:
1) to gain at least 5 kgs (apparently I look like I just came out of poverty -_-)
2) To excersie more (I need to get fit)
3)To be consistent with my HDs at University.
4) To be a better person

I am usually good at breaking promises/resolutions that I make to myself, so my resolution for next yr would be to not have any resolution.
