Default Instances Musfiq won the toss and asked opponent to bat first

@Harare vs Zim 17 Apr 2013
Musfiq wins the toss and asks Zim to bat first. Zim 1st innings 389 allout. BD 1st innings 134 allout. Zim doesn't enforce follow on. They won by 335 runs. BD 2nd innings 147 allout. As usual bowlers fault. (this is when Brandon Taylor was captain weak Zim team)

@Kingstone Jamaica vs WI 5 Sept 2014
Musfiq wins the toss and asks WI to bat first. WI 1st WIcket stand 113. They declare 484/7 1st innings. BD 1st innings 182 allout. BD lost by 10 wickets.

@Gros Islet, St Lucia vs WI 15 Sept 2014
Musfiq wins the toss and asks WI to bat first. WI 1st innings 380 allout. BD 1st innings 161 allout. WI won by 296 runs after declaring 269/4.

@Dhaka vs Pak 6 May 2015
Musfiq wins the toss and asks Pak to bat first. Pak 1st innings 557/8 declared. BD 203 allout. Pak don't enforce follow on. 195/5 Declared in the second innings. BD lose by 328 runs.

@Potchefstroom vs SA 28 Sept 2017.
Do I need to remind you of this one? We avoid follow on Mominul and Riyad's back by 14 runs. Lose the match by 333 runs.

@Bloemfontein vs SA 6 Oct 2017
Lose by Innings and 254 runs.

He says, and I quote,
"I'm a human being, I'm bound to make mistakes'.

"The blame is coming at me, because I decided to field first in both Tests. Maybe I haven't been leading properly and that's why the team isn't doing well. This is why I am saying that I should be given opportunity to correct my mistakes,"
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/...ushfiqur-rahim

So, when the 1st four times you had the opportunity to learn from the mistake, you didn't. What makes 6 time failure would teach you how to overcome the mistakes?

With the indication I am getting, I don't think Management will replace him. What a shocker it would be. Then I can't blame Mushfiq anymore. It would be BCB.

What makes you think BCB will retain him? I thought its a matter of time after series.

But I agree, if BCB keep him as captain, its not Rahim but BCB should get all the heat.

The vibe on Nazmul Hasan Papon, BCB president. Most likely my worst fear will be true.

1, 2, and 3 were justifiable for BD team. Harare was a sporting track as evidence by Robiul, Jarvis performances. Taylor put BD in for 2nd Test, which we won. 2nd Windies Test was actually played on a seamer friendly surface...no other way we could bowl WI out under 400 without Shakib.

Yes Ponting's Aussies wouldnt bowl first but we have Mush's baby tigers.

He already stepped down in 2013. BCB basically didnt allow him too. Could have spared us the pain of watching Sanga score the easiest 319 ever scored in cricket history.

You can sugar coat any way you wish. The FACT ( and this is no alternative fact a new word for me which could be easily said as 'lie') is 100% of the time he chose to field while he captained after winning the toss, we got our rear handed to us. He witnessed it as a captain.

Yet he is asking for more opportunities to correct the mistake. WTH? 6 times is not enough?

Gotta agree with bagher_chokh. Mushy has been the luckiest captain in the history of lucky captains. Anyone else's run would've been cut short in the first 2 years had there been another option.

Few years ago when Mushy finished his MS (Jahangir Nagar University, Savar) he said one day he wants to do a PhD .... I was so happy to hear that ... At least he has a great desire for education ... I think it's the right time to pursue that .... He will do a wonder if he choose "Game Theory" for subject matter! Suits him best!! *sigh*

From WiKi:

Game theory is "the study of mathematical models of conflict and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers". Game theory is mainly used in economics, political science, and psychology, as well as logic, computer science and biology. Originally, it addressed zero-sum games, in which one person's gains result in losses for the other participants. Today, game theory applies to a wide range of behavioral relations, and is now an umbrella term for the science of logical decision making in humans, animals, and computers.

That would have been a valid excuse in 2013. in 2017, with the Players Bangladesh have it is not a valid excuse especially when it is a repeated offense.

Musfekur more suited as a pitch boy. Rolling the field and stuff, since he knows so much about how it will fare.

Great compilation work btw.

Massive defeats correlated with fielding first. But thats not the same as causation. There are instances of BD batting first and also getting their butts handed to them.

Not 100%. You can't compete with 100%. He wants to learn. What does he want to learn? Impossible is nothing? Giving advantage to the opponents and still winning?

You, me and everyone here knows this is a smoke screen. The fragile batting we have, which he is part of, the trigger happy top order we have, are AFRAID of taking the field. Ignoring the fact, fielding 2 days under the hot sun and as$ wipping demoralizes the team. Blame the bowlers to stir away the eyes from the real issues (President/Narcissist like).
