Does Brendan Taylor give Bangladesh fans nightmares?
Hi everyone, I hope everyone is well but I know there will be a lot of BD fans disappointed with the result of the 1st Test. I can assure you there are a lot of happy Zimbabwe supporters though.
Zimbabwe will have their tails up after this huge win, and Bangladesh will be intent on levelling the Test series and putting up a good showing in the ODIs where they have been formidable opponents for Zimbabwe for over a decade.
I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
A question for BD fans though, does Brendan Taylor give you nightmares? The big innings that come to mind are:
- that ODI in 2006 where he hit the last ball of the match off Mashrafe for six to give Zimbabwe victory (and contributing to a 3-2 series win)
- then in 2011 he scored 71 and 105 not out to lead Zimbabwe to their first victory since returning to Test cricket
- and in this Test match he put his name in the history books by scoring 171 and 102 not out.

I don't think our bowlers have the capability to get Taylor's wicket, unless he throws it away. And I also think that, Taylor is a better batsman than any of ours. Yep.

Taylor can go on to join the ranks of Sangakkara, the bogeyman of BD bowlers

Taylor came out of a poor series against WI. He always does well against us for some reason.

Catching is the main tormentor whoever bats a Taylor or a Zarvis.

It's "Jarvis" and not "Zarvis".
On another note, I notice that in some cases, Bengali names Junaid or Javed can be spelt with a Z in place of J making them Zunaid and Zaved respectively. Does this mean J and Z are pronounced the same in Bengali?

Nah , I don't like cricket enough for any player to give me nightmares. And I always blame my team first before respecting the opposition. Taylor succeeds because our boyz fail. Our boyz don't fail because Taylor succeeds.

Well whether it is J or Z I give a rat's az about that Proper Noun misspelling as long as I have a small cap A in front and the way you put your nick also might get questioned by many Hasan-s in Bangladesh.
