Actually its been really long since he had his last knee injury...
His last known injuries have been hamstring and bruises from a rickshaw accident.

Mashrafe is a living legend...Hell he's a playing legend...In my lifetime I've witnessed few living legends still playing the game...Imran, Akram, Lara, Sachin, Warne...Mash may not be up to that level of legends I mentioned just only because he is from Bangladesh...But to Bengalis, he is already a legend, right up there with the all time greatest Bengalis such as, Bangabandhu, Rabindranath, Nazrul etc. Man I believe even if he wants to, he may win election beating Hasina/Khaleda...such is his legendary fame...:-)

May be that's what he should do.
If he continue to play beyond WC, he will start hutting the team more than helping... the "Floater" thing is not working.... he is bottom of the available fast bowlers ( behind Mustafiz, Taskin, Al-Amin, Rony and even Rubel ) in T20.
He is indeed a Legend, and that's why he need to retire with his head high....

Mortaza will most likely retire from t20s after the WC and Rony will take his spot
Our woes in this format has nothing to do with him, he can't go teach the top 7 batsman how to bat.

+this....
From what I saw in the last 2 games, his bowling is fine. He is hitting a decent pace which was missing all of last year. For a no.8 in t20.. Its bound to be more misses then hits. I sure he would perform if he batted up and have a little more time and less pressure.

if Mash went up against Khaleda/Hasina, trust me, they'd find a way to besmirch him.

This is a knee-jerk thread.
Mash is still a decent bowler. Maybe not great, but he's decent. He's no AR, but he can hold a bat. And most importantly, he's an excellent leader and overall a great captain. He can be more aggressive during PP, but there isn't much else I can fault him for. He led an avg or below-avg Comilla side to victory in the BPL.
And besides him, we only have one more good captain material in Mahmudullah. The other options are terrible.

Our fans have such little patience, as evident in the match-thread where people was screaming for his head and retirement during the 2nd wicket partnership
The only thing he did wrong today was not having a slip at times, lets not forget 2 catches were dropped at slip too

tbh, it was only a couple of people. I'd start worrying if more than a tiny minority says the same.

Ugh, such complacency. Bd won, and so and so did all right. THAT MUST MEAN SO AND SO IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME, and I must now roll my sleeves up, and sit at the table for this "humble pie".
Hur,hur, hur, hur. (plays sitcom laugh track) Am I right?
PS: Always need to improve the side. The team is playing well now as an unit, not like Mash bailed us out like Shabbir or anything.

No, it was a knee-jerk reaction regardless of win/loss.

Roey has a point.
But I'm not going to sound negative and talk anything else today (on this particular topic).
Lets enjoy the moment , have not hard much in T20s against better G8 teams recently!

I don't know what humble pie people are talking. We are all Mashrafee fan and all acknowledge his accomplishment and we all acknowledge what Mashrafee made when he took the captaincy from Rahim.
But atelast some of us also know reality.... the age ... the injury ridden body ... and the need to think life without Mashrafee in near future.

He did great. Should retire on a high after the world cup.
That second 4 vs Amir was brilliant. Had to improvise on a split second. My jaw dropped.
