Your WC Squad
OK, time to give your final verdict.
My team: Changes I want to see from the squad in Zimbabwe tour-
Rasel in place of Sharif: Sharif seems to have too many injury problems- the main reason he could not be tested well in Zimbabwe. I suspect he is not fit enough to come back in international stage. The selectors should play safe and bring Rasel back.
Farhad in place of Tushar: I know the selectors need to break the cycle of dropping Tushar after every match he playes, but Tushar also needs to stop choking himself in every opportunity he gets.
Also Mushfiq's promotion in the batting order means we need a more attaking batsman for #7 slot, who preferably will also contribute with ball- Reza fits the description well.
Rajin and Rokon in places of Mehrab and Tamim: Mehrab seems to be far away from an ideal ODI opener. For Tamim, it is unfair to drop him only after two matches, but the kid has not done anything to prove that he is ready to face big teams. Rajin, I believe, is an auto choice in place of Mehrab. Rokon will be kind of a gamble, but, from the combination of his current form and past experience, I think he is a safer gamble than Tamim is.
So my team is-
SN
Rokon
Aftab
Mushfiq
Bashar
Sakib
Farhad
Mashrafe
Rafique
Razzak
Shahadat
Reserves:
Rajin
Ashraful
Tapash
Rasel
Yeah, I am keeping Ashraful, we don't have any credible replacement for him at this point.

I never knew I'll say it this early, but Ashraful needs to go - RIGHT NOW.
I will only put Tamim as a replacement for Ashraful in your reserves spot.
Not so sure about Farhad Reza, but he's in my watch list.
Rest of the team seems well balanced.

i love this line up....but not junaed yet...tamim will do fine up there trust me....better than mehrab or rajin...we need some explosive batting from the opening pair to set the tone for the rest of the team...quick runs from the openers somehow increase the confidence for the rest of the team as well....i really dunno how though...but generally tht wht i c in most of the ODIs.... oh and almost forgot....we really shouldnt play without rafiq...india and sri lanka are excellent against spinners...its true...but they are not fragile against medium pacers or pacers ...the ones tht we have i mean...so i guess rafiq will have a greater impact on the match than a fast bowler...got to have rafiq

15 player WC squad
- Shahriar Nafees (Must in)
- Javed Omar/ Mehrab Hossain/ Tamim iqbal (This is still a problem - but I wud prefer javed omar)
- Musfiqur Rahim ( Must in, He can open with Shahriar Too - good batsmen/wk)
- Aftab Ahmed ( Must in, He is a match winner, Remember The winning match vs Srilanka, and the winning performance against Zim - Hard hitter, This boy got guts and Talent )
- Saqibul Hasan ( Must in, 2nd most consistent performer with bat after Shahriar/ also can be useful spinner)
- Mohd Ashraful ( Can be Axed, but BCB can take him with last hope for some match winning performances)
- Habibul Bashar (Must in - as a Captain)
- Khaled Mashud (Must in, Dont forget his useful stands in many games in critical situation - average might not be high - Can be interchange with Ashraful - However Mushfiq should not be interchange with Pilot - Mushfiq is in)
- Mohd Rafique (Must in, Take him to a good nasal doctor Yo)
- Masrafe Mortaza (Must in)
- Shahadat Hossain (Must in) /Tapash Baiysa (Based on the ground pitch)
================================================== =========================================
So if you the the Must in's: 9 players
Shahriar Nafees, Aftab Ahmed, Musfiqur Rahim, Saqibul Hasan, Habibul Bashar, Mohammed rafique, Abdur Rajjak, Masrafe Mortaza, Shahadat Hossain
Reserves:
Javed Omar, Mehrab hossain, Tamim iqbal, Mohd. Ashraful, Khaled Mashud & Tapash Baisa
BCB can use the reserve based on the Pitch and Opponents

My team
1.SN
2.Tamim
3.Aftab
4.Mushfiq
5.Bashar
6.Ashraful
7.Sakib
8.Rafiq
9.Mashrafi
10.Rajjak
11.Shahadat
Reserve
12.Rajin
13.Taposh
14.Rana
15. a backup keeper yes pilot!
the first 11 has 7 batsmen, rafiq and mash are capable batters too. mush can come in at 3 or 4, against india or SL we may have a batting collapse specially against murali/kumble, we may need to promote ash at 4 then.
For the opening puzzle we need a blaster with SN. I dont know who is better between junaed and tamim but if janaed is technically better he should get the nod.
For the reserves, rajin should be there, he is a utility player. rana gets the nod over farhad reja, farhad can neither bat nor bowl. if we are going for an all rounder we should play a spinner all rounder than a pacer because farhad will be an easy meal for Ind/Sl batsman even though they are usually good against spin. but fact is spinners will be hard to score of on west indian wickets. if we can somehow qualify for last 8, we need a backup keeper and who else than pilot.

Shahriar Nafees (He needs to know that he can do better... I feel he is a bit lazy)
Tamim Iqbal (I Want to gamble with this kid.. well.. do u have a better choice? I don't want Rajin back to open because he is been out for awhile. Also, India+SL is not going to give us a target of 244, so we might as well take a chance)
Mushfique (I wanna let him be at #3. If Tamim plays, we need a slower batsman up there before Aftab)
Aftab Ahmed (If we have to win against India + SL, he has to perform, period.)
Mohammad Ashraful (I wanna give him one last chance hoping he could bring us one more history)
Saqibul Hassan (That should be his position)
Habibul Bashar (That might be your last world cup... might as well make the best out of it)
Mohammad Rafique (Salute, Sir)
Mashrafe (Well done boy)
Razzaq (keep up the good work)
Shahadat (work on ur short balls)
Let Ash throw few ball... since he lost his batting. Also, Aftab can bowl few overs... as WI favors medium pacers.
Reserve
Rajin {Incase of Injury (Allah na koruk)}
Sharif.. (try him on practice match.. he might be worth a chance)
(Taposh) he is very expensive... but he is a fellow with bat also.
(Farhad) Once again.. he might be able to throw some ball as WI pitch will favor.

My playing XI for the WC is the same as BlazinMaruf, Miraz and BangladeshFan's (couldn't understand why you guys restated the same team 3 times :P) .. hence this makes 4 Ppl support that team(exceptions to differences in the reserve players). Hence, Majority rules ..hoping to see this team perform during the WC matches. My reserves include pilot, TI, rasel & rajin. Don't wish to see any changes to the team throughout the WC unless injury strikes- and yes, even if ash & tamim fails in all the four games. Its a bet I'm willing to make.

My team: In batting order
S. Nafees - automatic
T. Iqbal - lots of name being thrown around here, Mehrab, Rajin, Junaed, Javed etc, and most of them will be a "hit" or a "miss", but I think the "hit" with Tamim will be better than the others. Just putting logic aside here and going with the sentimental 17 year old.
Aftab - we need him to take advantage of the pp and the hard new ball. Although the logic of sending two consecutive blasters is a valid one, we can't hope of beating India or Srilanka at their current form by playing it safe ( and I am guessing we want to win rather than getting good close results).
Saqibul - this is the hardest position to decide. This should be Ashraful's place, but Tamim, Aftab, Ashraful consecutively is a disaster in the making. Saqibul is capable of rotating the strike and we need his workman like qualities to deal with the middle overs.
Ashraful - well you know...
Bashar - I still haven't figured out what type of a batsman he is, but whatever he is, he is most definitely not going to make a gargantuan difference coming to the crease before Ashraful.
Mushfiq - he is calm enough to stick with the tail while Mashrafee and Rafique are blasting it at the other end. Not a #3 yet.
Rafique - boss with a broken nose
Mashrafee - he is the only legitimate fast bowling all-rounder prospect we have as far as I can see. Maybe Tapash can bat a little but his bowling will not make him an International calibre all rounder anytime soon.
Razzak - junior boss
Shahadat - I really hope he is watching tonnes and tonnes of tapes of the opposing team's openers. The way Jayasuria was picking off Munaf, Zaheer and Sreesanth in the rain washed first ODI was scary! He should start drawing up some strategies soon because we will not have a backup pacer in the eleven incase he gets botched.

Here's my squad:
1. Shahriar Nafees (no explanation needed)
2. Rajin Saleh (had a few good knocks in the domestic league; besides, his experience counts)
3. Aftab Ahmed (auto choice)
4. Sakib Hasan (auto choice)
5. Habibul Bashar (no explanation needed)
6. Mushfiqur Rahim (adds value to the batting strength)
7. Mashrafe Mortaza (no explanation needed)
8. Abdur Razzak (The Boss)
9. Mohammad Rafique (what's an eleven without him?)
10. Shahadat Hossain (hope he sorts out whatever has been bothering him in Zimbabwe)
11. Syed Rasel (I still think he's the best 3rd pacer that we've got)
12. Mohammad Ashraful (let him carry drinks for some time)
13. Tushar Imran (his experience might just help; besides, he deserves a few chances, to be totally fair on him)
14. Tamim Iqbal (just hanging around with the big boys should be a good experience for him; I was against his inclusion initially, but now that he's been dragged in, might as well let him watch from the dressing room balcony)
15. Khaled Mashud (back-up keeper)
The first eleven that I have chosen are the ones that I want to see out there on the day of the first match. not playing mashud in the eleven just makes life a lot easier - we can play three spinners (including sakib) and three seamers at the same time. we're gonna need three seamers, because of the nature of the WI wickets. we really don't need a super keeper - we need someone who can hold on to catches, save byes and contribute with the bat.
i think ashraful shouldn't be in the eleven, unless someone fails. he should be in the squad though - we don't really have anyone to replace him if mushfiqur fails. actually, we could play him and tushar imran interchangeably, if required.
i would opt for experience in the number 2 spot. tamim is too young and inexperienced, imo, and mehrab is too slow. rajin has had a few good knocks in the domestic leagues, and can't do any worse than these two. i will take him over mehrab and tamim in the eleven any day.

Tapash Should be Replaced by Razzak/Rafique According to Wicket Condition.
Finally, These are Only Fantasy. Main team will be Selected by Faruk and Co. If Media Do Not Like this They will Fight. Our Media Sometimes Write Without Understanding The Situation. I Hope At-Least This Time They Won't Compare Ashraful with Shewag/Lee/Bond. (In 2003 They did This Kind of Foolish Thing). I Respect our Media.
After Everything, If The Result will be Satisfactory, Everyone will Say "What a Team/Selectors Did Awesome".
If the Result will be Disaster, Everyone will Say "Selectors Should Resign/They are Biased/They are Corrupted etc."
I Trust Our Selectors. Definitely They will Decide for the Best Performance. They are More Experienced and Knowledgeable than Us. It will be Duty for The Players "Forget Zimbabwe. It was Just Like a Domestic Match. Be Prepared to Face The Real Giant".
Have a Nice Time.

Bhaiera,
We are certain towards some players, and I am not different. What I believe is that our players too are biased toward certain opponents and pitches.
For example:
Bash do well against Paki, WI.
Ash Against SRI
SN against Australia
JO against England
Aftab against Zimbabwe, Eng.
Rajin Against Ind.
So against Lanka, I am not sure about Nafees. So, I want to see Javed as a partner of him. At least he will steady the innings. Against India, Sn has no experience. So I want Rajin to open against them. And both rajin, Javed has good record in the juicy wickets of WI. In WC I want to see oldies, not mush new players. I am hopeful y=that experiene will shine.
For shahdat, I rthink he is Ok against Srilanks, but not sure against India. I want, Tapash, Masri, Razzaq, And Rafiq against Dadas.
Anyway, these are all from my personal perspective. But I dont want to see the most stupid guy in WC ASH BABA- I want consintent players- not Biddyot Chmok
