Finally a permanent bowling coach for Bangladesh!
Today Mr. Ali Asgar Loby, BCCB President made an interview with N-TV and said that within next 2 days, it is going to be finalized and announced to appoint a permanent bowling coach!
He said the 1st preference was Andy Roberts, and 2nd choice was Damien Fleeming from Australia! And the communication is going on, he believes by next 2 days it will be finalized as he was spoken to the N-TV Sports Reporter this day evening!
He said to the N-TV, as Andy Robert previously came in Bangladesh, and he guided Mashrafe, so Andy was their first choice!
He also urged that it would be great if Andy Roberts is available to the tour to Sri Lanka with Dave Whatmore! He is optimistic though!
The decision was taken to recruit a permanent bowling coach after the discussion made with Dave Whatmore earlier, it was also said.
So finally it is there, friends!
I have got my permanent bowling camp in bangladesh soon!
Let's pray we have many Mashrafe by next 2 years before world cup 2007!!!
Cheers to all!!
Again, it was seen on TV, the discussion with the old people those who were the part of Old Board in the past and not involved with any present business of current board, the meeting was done for the possibility to work jointly with the current members with old at Board! And, it was also seen in TV that the old & opposition party people were saying if they were positioned to good place and given at least some responsibility, which is their concern!!
I guess, it is the time to work jointly and uniquely in Cricket Board of Bangladesh! No BNP and no Awami League! Take the head and master from all corner to strengthen the Board and develop more transparency there!

excellent news.
This is the perfect move. It was late but I am happy to see it is happening finally.
This will specially strengthen our test team. And doing good in test will give us respect from all test countries.

I would love to see Andy Roberts as our bowling coach.Actually,Masri came to BD side after he was recommended to the BCB by Andy.Plus now,we have more fast bowlers available to us than ever. This will be the perfect time to use someone like Andy to tune Talha,Russel,Rajib's acts.I am also hoping that Rafiq will join the coaching staff after he retires, and last but not the least,Chacha will join us as our official cheerleader with real pompoms.

I would prefer McGrath if he is on the verge of retirement after this Ashes series.

I dont think McGrath will retire before another year atleast and a good bowler doesnt necessarily make a good coach. :cool2:

Very Good news for BD cricket.
It would 've been better if the 2n choice was Wasim Akram. He is more familiar with BD conditions and so can train the boys well and can give tips accordingly.
Nywaz, Damien Flemming aint bad but i guess he aint much familiar with the conditons in BD.
Inshallah, now we will see more Mashrafee's comin up and rock in our bowling....

Sounds like an interesting interview on NTV.
Anyone recorded it?
Good news about the Bowling coach. What we need next is a supporting Batting Coach as well. These are all steps towards proffessional cricket.

You can contact with N TV, as I guess sometimes they keep these recorded interview for next few days as saved one.
It was seen yesterday at Sports news at 10:30 evening bangla news on NTV.

I would like to hear more from him about Masrafee. Such as his observations of where he is at this stage; how much has he improved since he last coached him and where is he going in his career.

I would prefer an Aussie bowling coach over any West Indies coach. Aussies got the the coaching brian that none other have.

Just being an Aussie does not automatically make a person a better coach than those from other nations. Andy Roberts credentials are extremely solid.

Yes, but Andy Roberts has a brain.
But more importantly, he appears to have had a good impact the last time around.....so why not ?
Unless you and I empty our coffers to bring in an Aussie....Dennis K Lillee ?

I dont think Andy Roberts is any less... in fact, I think he is one of the best that are out there. Wasim/Waqar is dying for a PCB call,,only if we were blessed with such bowlers for out team as coaches....nevertheless, its a great news to have Andy. Though fast bowlers as said, are not made but born, I hope he will be able to find a couple from the pacer hunt selects.
Hope we are entering another era of cricket by having a dedicated bowling coach...after this, what excuse will we have, I wonder..
