Billah bhai how do you define nationality? As far as I know KP Pietersen's mother is English. So to me he is British as he has British blood..

Born in SA, grew up & played cricket in SA.
Failed to get in the national side, left SA, went to England, was able to get in since he plays superb cricket and has an English mother, making him eligible.
You can call him English if you like. Why not, the English are..

Well, I don't have a theory about nationality, since the matter gets pretty complex. In the case of KP though, its very simple for me: South African.

Great going by the Aussies! But observing the current thread's dearth of England supporters and observing from a previous poll that suggested England a more favoured team than Australia, can't help but wonder if this sudden change is purely because of Boycott's mother!
Either way looking forward to a whitewash by the Aussies..

oh the ashes have started eh? what's this? england getting creamed? nothing unexpected....hmm....they should sign Boycott's momma for the next test...if she can score runs against bangladesh, she should at least be able to reach double figures against Australia...
btw send some of those pommie batters to bangladesh and we'll get sarwar imran to give 'em some batting tips, since they obviously dont seem to be as good as the great boycott had predicted. after all, he's human, and humans make mistakes. he just overestimated the english team a tad bit, and underestimated us an even littler bit

And Pietersen is 50* from 36* within a blink!
42.3 McGrath to Pietersen, FOUR, And now a spanking cover drive to bring
up his half-century! Pietersen really turning it on with power and
panache. Great knock from him in his first Test innings
42.2 McGrath to Pietersen, SIX, Maximum! Glenn McGrath being treated by
a club bolwer on this occasion! Pietersen gets to th epitch of the
ball and creams it into the stands over long-off. That is an
incredible shot!
42.1 McGrath to Pietersen, FOUR, Cracking shot! McGrath is full and
Pietersen bludgeons that back past the bowler for four. That is
some hand-eye co-ordination

Good to get the score we did, but this pitch is still going up and down so it will be hard for England batting last on this pitch, I reckon realistically they will lose.
As for KP, I don't have a problem. When in SA he was regarded a very average cricketer, he bowled off spin and batted at number 9! So his talent was not fulfilled, he couldn't even get a regular place in the Natal team. He went to find a county so that he could play more regularly. Since his move to England he has transformed his batting under the guidance of English coach's and his batting is the reason he is playing international cricket. So the idea that he learnt all his cricket in SA is rubbish, he learnt off spin in South Africa and he doesn't bowl anymore. Put it this way, if KP has qualified to play for South Africa having been an Englishman and was the player he was today I doubt many South Africans would be complaining.

He did a good job for England but wouldn't of got another game so a fair enough decision.
Well done Thorpey!
He is going off doing batting coaching in Australia later in the year, maybe Bangladesh should employ him for a while?

I think during the rough times of the 90's Thorpe was one of the outstanding English batsman they had. In the Ashes he was very consistent and played Shane Warne in a couple of Test matches like no one else. I really admire his technique and composure and wish him well in his future endeavours.
His career went downhill because of personal problems and i think if he wanted to go out on top, he should have retired then and not waited this long coz i see this to be more insulting and not respecting his achievements in cricket and amount of opportunities he gave England! One of the reason why England is so successful is for Thorpe and his sacrifices.
Well done Graham- history will keep you alive!

Well if we can take heart from one thing it is that this wicket isn't as bad as it seemed yesterday.
It's just that Clarke and Martyn are not even under pressure, they are not breaking sweat. Its a hundred partnerhip now and the last fifty came up in 47 balls. The lead is already over 200 and I don't think England would want to chase more than 260.
And the way our top order is playing at the moment I am not overly confident of even chasing 260.
Its hard to be confident. Australia will win.

What do you say about this?
Well, i'll still nominate Giles for the Wisden Cricketer of the Year award!
51.3 Giles to Martyn, no run, far outside the leg stump and going straight. That is a really negative line from Giles.

The sad thing is that England could lose inside three days having bowled first and bowled the opposition out for 190.
The thing with Gilo is that he is accurate mainly, and top class batsman will rarely fall for his 'flight and guile'. If he isn't accurate like today then he is no use.
He does have 1000 runs and 100 wickets though

Australia 262/5, leading by 297 runs. Katich and Gilly batting.
The lead can easily go beyond 400 if Gilly gets going
