Default Opponents for 2012 T20 Worldcup

Well well well!! The loss against Ireland (at England's T20 world cup 2009) is still haunting us. Thanks to then selectors and captain Ashraful (remember the catch practice at slip? not once?). We can't get out of this cycle. The curse is on.

We will be seeded 9th (A3) in the 2012 WC.

The 8th seed will be either: (A2)

SA or India or SL or WI.

Plus the champion (A1)

Australia or Pak or Eng.

Another 1st round exit?

Until we go in the 2nd round by beating one of the top 8, we will continue to play top 8 teams in group stage. Even if it take 20 yrs

Unless we(Cricket board+Fans) change our view/thought we'll keep experiencing consecutive defats in silly T20 games. be it world cup match or other t20 matches.

not only going to the second round will help. if we go to second round and still finish 8th we get 1st(champion) and 9th (the team we knocked out to get in second round) in the next WC.

1st we have to ensure we go to second round. then also we have to ensure we dont finish 8. we somehow by winning or NRR have to become 7th.....

anyway there is another chance of getting 7th. we qualify for 2nd round. and two other test teams dont qualify. now whatever we do in 2nd round we will finish as seeded 7th as the two teams not qualifying for 2nd round in 8th and ninth

Most definitely.
Also by next T20 WC the top teams would be more professional and accurate about the new format.

May not be a bad thing. A9 has qualified to super eight in all 3 editions so far (BD, IRE, AUS)

2 years, enough time for reshuffling and rethinking T20 strategies, dare I expect!

We could say the same thing now. T20 came around all the way in 07. 3 years to make T20 strategies...

Cannot say anything just now. Lets see what BD do in 2011 ODI WC in home condition. Than it can be judged.

That loss to Ireland started an infinite loop of doom for BD t20 cricket.

We can't complain about our group this year. Both matches were winnable and we let them slip away.

Here's hoping to a revisit of 1996 ODI finals on sunday (SL defeats AUS).

Nah OZ is way too strong this year. Specially their bowling. M. Johnson, Nannes, and Tait are going to love the Barbados pitch. That's 12 overs of pain right there for the other team.

Anyone but Australia and possible England. These are specially Aussies are way out of anyone's league. Other than that, there is hardly any difference between us and any other teams, whether we can utilise this its another question.

Absolutely, assuming Stats, Facts or Reality can not be used to argue against that.
