Provided of course that matching fingerprint and dna samples are on file. The perpetrators may also have used gloves - if he/she/they were domestic with no police history, chances of having even their fingerprints on file is remote. The visual is the key clue here - with face matching software fairly robust it may just be a matter of CPU time. Vast majority of the faces would be on file - either via drivers licenses or through pictures taken at immigration entry points. I would hazard a guess that they have a good bead - else those pictures would have been made public. Plus I'm sure they don't want vigilante justice on anyone remotely looking like one of the suspects.

A Bangladeshi man out for dinner at a Bronx restaurant was viciously beaten hours after the Boston Marathon bombing by thugs who called him “a f--king Arab” before pummeling him to the ground, sources said.

Abdullah Faruque, 30 — a native of the South Asian country who grew up in The Bronx — was at Applebee’s on Exterior Avenue in Melrose at about 11:30 p.m. Monday when he went outside for a smoke.

Three or four Hispanic males he’d noticed drinking at the bar followed him and angrily got in his face, he recalled yesterday.

“One of the guys asked if I was Arab. I just shook my head, said like, ‘Yeah, whatever.’ I didn’t even know that [the] Boston [bombing] happened because I had a busy day,” Faruque said.

He turned to head back inside as one of the men snarled, “Yeah, he’s a f--king Arab,” and the gang pounced, punching him on the head and body, dislocating his left shoulder and leaving him semiconscious.

“Before I could grab the door, they started swinging at me,” the network engineer said of the 90-second beatdown. “I’ve been jumped before. If you can’t win, you back up, you try to protect yourself.”

The victim said he went home and turned on the TV, and only then learned about the bombing and put two and two together.

“I saw the news, and then it hits me: That’s why I got jumped,” he said.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Unit is investigating.

Ya we are learning and heading that I reaction too.... It's difficult in BD these days to move with beard and/or a cap. Can't blame the people of a completely different culture and religion.

My grandfather and father both have beards and wear tupis. Gramps prays at the mosque 5 times a day and goes for walks twice a day. Dad is the same, but goes to the mosque twice a day.

Neither have been attacked or abused.

But don't worry - they have their 13 demands out there, and if they and their supporters get their way - we'll all have beards and tupis soon enough. Problem solved - no more 'difficulty' for people to move with beards and/or a cap.

Now does any of you think this is all a fluke? Knowing the way American mainstream newschannnels are controlled on EXACTLY what to say and what not....We all saw news during 9/11, always very monotonic but later we found out real stories....I always try not to believe right waway what i hear on US news channels.....there are rumor/ conpiracy/ turth - already that the marathon bombing is a staged event. Well, News channels are connecting the stories, we are all looking with enthusiasm.

Story 1: FBI released pictures of only 2 suspects around 5 pm. Clues came in from everywhere. Some clues led to MIT. Disturbance at MIT after 1030 pm, campus police responded, campus police shot multiple time and killed. 2 people flee the scene, police chase on, chase come to an stops. Serious gunfight, and an Explosion.
-- So obviously this is not crazy guys with guns on campus with the intent to shoot students or with an intention of mass killing, because 1030pm, no students are walking around campus.
- These 2 guys killed campus police and made an explosion, when they were chased down
- So very possible these are related Marathon Bombing.

story 2: The suspect no 2, with white cap on was already captured from his home, stripped naked, dragged in the police car (just saw the vdo). So, the 2 guys at MIT, who had guns and made explosion even, are they related to marathon bombing?

Story 3: - MOST interesting...
The marathon bombing is an staged bombing to hammer or weaken the gun laws initiative that Obama was about to take. Why? - FBI is just showing 2 guys with 2 black bags. but not exposing few more people with same kinds of backpacks and looked more suspicious...... in this video -
