Hira becomes national team manager
Shafiqul Haque Hira is appointed as the national team manager for next one year.
Quote:

Because Hira proved himself an incompetent and unprofessional team manager last time he was given this post. It sounds like total bs that BCB could not find other eligible candidates or that they could not arrange an interview with Shipon.

The person who can't attend interview for whatever reason, don't deserve the post, anyway. What if he abandons BD team tour because of his personal work? What else BCB could do?

Shafiq-ul-Haq named Bangladesh operations manager
Shafiq-ul-Haq, the former Bangladesh captain, has been appointed the national team's operations manager. Appointed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on a one-year contract, Shafiq will begin his tenure from the five-ODI series in Pakistan starting April 8.
A wicketkeeper, Shafiq started his cricketing career in 1965 and played 29 first-class games for East Pakistan. He represented Bangladesh from 1976 to 1984 and captained the country in the 1979 and 1982 ICC Trophy in England.
He served as the Bangladesh team manager during the 1988 Asia Cup in Dhaka, the 1990 Australasia Cup in Sharjah, the home series against Pakistan in 2002 and Australia in 2006 and on the tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya the same year. His stint with the Bangladesh board included a post as the deputy director development and venue director of the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur.
Shafiq was a also a national selector during Bangladesh's ICC Trophy victory in 1997. He was one of the representatives of the BCB at the Host Submission meetings of the 2011 World Cup to be jointly hosted by the four Test-playing countries in the subcontinent.

I see the logic why he is selected by BCB. Heera will take take of our Manik Ratans. we already have a platinum coach and Three selectors made with Tama, Alumunium and Zirconium.
Only sad part is we are left the Gold out of the team.

Are we hiring "Panna" from the womens' team? She can give Mash a run for his money. Who is going to be our silver armour?

Who was the manager when we toured Zimb in 2006?
I hope it wasn't Hira. That manager was suck. He was just roaming around and didn't take care of the team. The team was lacking security but he didn't do anything.

O sh*t, this is the same guy?
We are doomed then..
Very poor move from the stupid BCB.
What's wrong with the manager we currently have? He seems to be a good manager to me.

I do not know much about Hira other than watching him in the Chittagong League in the late Seventies. He knew how to sweep the spin bowlers and we used to see sand storm while he batted, in Bengali known as "jharoo."

Why some people are kind of upset with his selection? Is he such a bad guy or have a bad track record? What he have done?

What were the situations he failed to adequately deal with?
