Well if we want to keep playing tests, we have to take this. Or else we could go on self-exile like Zim did and people will applaud us.

It's time to get self exile from test cricket. We better not play test cricket for 2-3 years before ensuring a good FC structure, school cricket, good sporting pitches. Our A team, under 23 team can tour to different countries and play 3/4 days cricket with respective A, under 23 teams. BCB can also invite country, foreign clubs to play FC Cricket with our A team and aged group teams. Our national team clearly lacks mentality and skills to play test matches. The sooner we accept our shortcomings and work for it, the better. Otherwise, BD cricket may face the same fate that BD football is facing now, i.e. lack of fan, lack of sponsors, lack of interests from other countries to play with us.

Good article. Can someone print it and throw it at the next BCB meeting and say they are responsible for all this?

I know their answer already. Previous administration's fault. Well, some of you corrupted people were in the previous administration as well. Matter fact holding posts for over 10 years.

In that case, we can take the exile indefinitely!

The best way to fight criticism is to prove it wrong.

As always Lankans back Bangladesh all the time. Indians are always ready to murder Bangladesh and oust them from test arena.

Really good article as always by Rajesh. Always enjoy reading in to his stats. Forget about the wins, what's alarming is the draws. That points out the flaw our batsmen have. Had we drawn more matches, we'd get more respect by now. Instead we not only lose but more often than not, we lose badly.

Sadly as long as BCB stays the way it does and the players attitudes are the same, we'll continue to get blown out.

The cockroach does do a good stats analysis - gotta hand him that. But check the timing...what's so special about 85 tests? 50, 100 I can see, but 85? Where was the article earlier this year when we had drawn 4 of our last 8 tests? The article, valid or not, reeks of opportunism.

That being said check his 28 game splits, in the last third we've performed far better. Still a long way to go. A great test side cannot have any passengers...all XI members must be essentially unstoppable. The Aussies of the late 90s and early 2000s are the only side who claim that, hence their impeccable record. A good side (eg India) will have at most 2-4 passengers. Poor sides like us have 5+ deadwoods.

Shakib, Mushy, Momin, Tamim, and Taskin are the only guys who pull their weight in the Test lineup. Taskin has yet to play, but you already know he will be our best test seamer by some distance.

That means we are currently playing with 6 passengers. We definitely need to find 3 more solid players in order to compete consistently.
